How does your game fit the Magical Girl Genre?
The protagonist, Shiori, is a magical girl with water magic. The chapter 1 boss, Victoria, is also a magical girl with healing magic.
Which theme(s) do you pick?
Blue Library as the main theme, with all other themes being referenced.
How does your game fit those theme(s)?
Blue Library: You play as the librarian of the Blue Library, and must defend it against troublemakers. Priestess of Victory: The chapter 1 boss is the Priestess of Victory, a priestess who has (allegedly) always been victorious. Grayscale Stage: Chapter 2 features enemies with a grayscale colour scheme, who treat the library as though it were a concert stage. The Battle Dogs: Most of the game is the protagonist battling those who disturb the library. Hell Burns Red / Moon Rails: There are random events in which you may find a burning book, or a moon-themed book.
If you follow any of the optional challenges, elaborate as you like.
Gambling addict: The game is a roguelite, with different random events and battle rewards each run. Some random events may also offer a gamble, such as a donut which can either heal or poison you. I am special: Battle rewards come in different tiers (1-star/2-star/3-star). Limit break: There is a limit to how high your stats can get during a run. This limit can be increased via the Research system.
Were the assets for your game made during the jam? Elaborate as you see fit.
Some graphics, namely the jelly-filled donuts and the burning book that can appear in a random event, are reused from my previous projects. The transitions between screens are from my previously released asset pack. The sound effects used in combat are free stock assets (excluding the ones used in the UI and the BGM, which were created during the jam). Everything else was created during the jam.

Very good one Apho. I might continue when I get home.
It's been a couple of days now, did you ever get home? LOL
Thanks for playing!
Keyword: might

Very fun game. The combat started off feeling a bit basic but once I realized there was an upgrades menu and other skills you can unlock it felt more robust. Though, spamming might upgrades did seem to be the way to go in the end, and crits sort of never happened.
I think it’s a bit of a shame that the second boss, and the final boss of this demo, discourages use of status-effects, as on account of that I didn’t end up using anything related to the Tidal Waves mechanic. It was an interesting boss gimmick to play around but better off in a longer game where there’d be more parts to the game in which you do get to use status effects.
Gradually getting stronger through the upgrade system was fun albeit felt a bit grindy. The skip feature mitigated helped, though.
The artwork and music was nice, as was the humour. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t chuckle at “High Priest.”
Good work overall! Man, could I go for a jelly-filled donut right about now.
Thanks for playing!
Pretty fun. Among the stats, might is probably the best stat to get. HP and MP are nice to have and really count with the bosses. Crit, despite being so expensive is a non factor. I think I only had a single crit while unlocking most of the abilities and getting might to start at 9.
Speaking of abilities, I find the defensive skills to be too weak. While I didn't try all of them, I found myself only using 2 of the abilities and the normal attack.
Overall though, seems like a great start.

This was pretty interesting! There were quite a few different options to choose from, so it looks like there are lots of different ways that you could build a run. For my playthrough, I basically just Might maxxed, but I played around a bit with some other options like the Shield + Tidal Waves stuff just to see how it might work. A lot of the enemies had some pretty cool mechanics, too. Though, I wonder if there was a way you could have the first level enemies do something more interesting than just basic attacks while keeping them simple and straight-forward for the player to get a handle on the mechanics. Since everything is strictly beneficial, the "Skip" option doesn't really seem to mean much - seems like it only would come into play if all your options are at the cap already. As always, the game was very humorous and got quite a few laughs from me. Also, nice job being able to fit so many of the themes in there as well. Would be interesting to see what kind of unique mechanics the other theme's bosses could have.
Thank you!
Very fun game!
I got as far as the priestess but didn't get much luck in recovering enough health to last
Thank you!
This game is SO much fun! I really didn't want it to be over when it was. I would absolutely love to see more!
My only critique was that the menu at the bottom of the screen is pretty much unreadable due to how the text color clashes with the library's floor.
Thank you!
I LOVE this game~! The writing is cheeky. The art style is cute. The only complaint I have about the music is that I wish there was more of it. It is a little grindy, but honestly, I found myself engrossed in the gameplay loop, and I wish there were more chapters.
Thank you! I was planning to add more chapters, but sadly ran out of time so that will have to wait until post-jam :<
I beat the game. Had some qualms with the randomness factor at first until I discovered you can get more abilities. The grayscale boss having 69 HP also sent me for a shock at first since I still hadn't raised my stats too much. Loved that I was finally able to play it after seeing all the progress updates in chat, and I'm looking forward to any further content that might come for the game!
Thank you!
Quite difficult. I didn't manage to go far, but I think I'll reach somewhere if I continue. I think the music is nice, and dialogues in between fights are funny.
I do say, making a heal that work only 1/3 of the time is very risky.
Thanks for playing!
Fun game, the characters are funny. I put all my experience into might only to get humbled in the second chapter lol
Thanks for playing!
Very cute game, though difficult, i enjoyed the comedy.
Thank you!
