Really cool game

I think it was overall a little bit shorter than I was expecting narrative wise though- but I think the narrative unraveling around the circumstances of the expeditions and realizations on certain conditions led to a few cool moments- I think I'm kinda uncertain on some redundancies in the puzzles because structuring this game even conceptually is hard but it feels a bit like the eureka-moments are a mixed bag at times? (though still leaning generally positive). Beat everything except for the one about the chapter 13 something and spaceship manual- that one felt it would just be a bit of guesswork which was annoying. I enjoyed mainly the puzzles that required knowledge that wasn't directly fed to you or telling you what something was, but figuring out what keywords to search was also nice.

Few additional things I wanted to note:

I think the Integrated/Reconstructing boxes could use some different colored borders around them to help distinguish them more easily. That and sorting by date might be nice. Was also thinking if maybe the audio logs could have an text indicator for who's speaking? Was a bit back-and-forth on this one but I think at least some sort of re-formatting to indicate a textual shift would be nice.

The Reconstruction File also contains information that I felt robbed me of finding the info out through the files themselves- chunking it out into "unveiling" chunks with files that have said subject matter might feel more intriguing. As a whole though I really like it and the reveal of the challenge, especially if a little more emphasis were to be placed on it- I think it's a solid capstone for compiling information altogether. I did say chunking it out might make it better, but the foreboding wall of text is a decently presented challenge. I think the percentage counting both the audio files and final file is a bit misleading though.

Also a few visual bugs:

Thank you for taking the time to leave such comprehensive feedback Orzaround! We really appreciate it.

This was a jam game for Ludum Dare 59 and we made this in under 72 hours, so we're still in development to build upon what we made back then. I'm glad the loop was satisfying at times, we designed the puzzles to be a mix of learned knowledge and prior knowledge.

I'm currently working on the expanded script for the Steam release, the total clip count will hover around 80!(That's near double I believe). Some mechanics on the top of our list: clip sorting and filtering, visual timeline.

I had originally designed line breaks to indicate new speakers but we went with another direction in the end. Raw data to reconstructed data may not be as apparent as it should be when clips go from the black box to the reconstruction file.

We'll work hard this fall and get back to you with any updates!
