Yeah... I think a number of us have faced some... situations... in the past where survival instincts kicked in out of a need to protect ourselves.
Trust is a thing that should be earned. An implicit evaluation gifted by the one who trusts (until such time an evaluation decides the gift is to be rescinded). Not a thing that should be coerced -- no matter how indirect.
I suspect the hypnosis effect works on fawn response. You need either a very strong sense of self, or have had much experience self-reflecting and making sense of complex mental hurdles; to be able to see exactly what's going on here.
The tell about this game was the way the narrative changed. It started permissive and freeing, but the element of the 'voice' began taking control of the narrative as instructor rather than facilitator. Big difference. Big big difference.
