An adventure that focuses on a faction conflict. The theme of this adventure is very unique and really give me the Godfather vibes. Also what I love the most from this adventure is the "A very important note" section. the "Nobody wants a killing at their dinner table" is giving me a chill.

Also, there is a little bit of typo, and on "The City" section number 1 is overlapped by the map hexes.

Developer(+1)

overlapping was a little intentional, as the map wa a pain to place. Typo are a problem i'm aware, they were hard to catch in canva, and i make too much final touches, so something slipped. My bad.

Unique take on the title. Looks real fun and can easily be a boardgame!

Developer

In fact I have a soft spot  for "narrative boardgames"

I love what you made out of your title and all the cool details you've included! Fork and Sorcery is a great idea as its onw fantasy subgenre.

As a lover of food and drink, this one grabs my attention right away. I like that the game mechanics call for a grander-scale arc of play than a typical one-off "OSR" adventure. That said, I actually wouldn't mind more specifics about how the faction-level struggle is actually worked out by players at the table over time. Perhaps this is the kernel of a standalone zine/game.

Developer(+1)

Maybe we could work on it on an incoming issue of Fallimento Assocurato about food.

I am just reading about Fallimento Assicurato thanks to your jam submission: Italy seems to have such a strong RPG community! I personally love food-themed games and have long dreamed of writing mechanics for a dueling-startup-fantasy-restaurants zine…

I'm glad you went full goblin and went with your original prompt. What a treat (pun intended). And honestly, I don't see the lack of connection to Appendix N. This could well be inspired by an unwritten Dunsany or Borges story.

This one's godda be run with a glass of red!

A novel approach to a title that must have been a tough pick!

I'm concerned about the lack of connection to Appendix N, or adventure modules, but it is creative and competently written in and of itself nonetheless.

Developer

i tried to make a "Anthony Bourdain's Sword and Sorcery". The propt was a hard one to chew! I spent like a week looking for people open to trade theirs with mine, then i went full goblin and made this thing. Thank you for you attention, it's much appreciated :)

Really interesting use of the page format!

Developer(+1)

it's the format of posh restaurant menus, at least in my city :P. Thank you for taking a look and noticing

Strongly appeals to my love of food / wine / cooking / et c., this really commits to the weirdness and I enjoyed it a LOT.

That said I do think it wants a bit of work on layout/visuals, and some proofreading. I also think that having managed to fit both a full setting and game rules in there (and at a very reasonable font size!), it lacks something on the "adventure" front - the game rules feel like they're edging into board game territory a little. That said I definitely want to try and work out how to play this, with a suitable group of gourmands...

Developer(+1)

I'd say you got it, more than an adventure per se, It Is a urban campaign faction play framework with the needed flavour. And I know it can be largely improved, thank you for the feedback

The setting is bonkers, I love how crazy the factions are, there's so much potential for a campaign. I definitely want to see an expanded version of this after the jam is over!

Developer

i never thought about an expanded version, but maybe...

This is one of the most unhinged RPGs I've ever read. Taking "Tannin" and running with this is a double stroke of brilliance and madness. And I kind of love it. I barely understand the rules, but it's got tons of faction play possibilities with the added challenge of engaging in fights without disrespecting the sanctity of the dinner table. The maillard faction is especially funny.

Developer

thank you, i write my stuff for readers like you

Loud and full of personality! Unfortunately causes it to be a little hard to parse through

Submitted(+1)

I think the concept itself is  fun and humorous, I'm not sure how well it fits with the  Jam theme though, it feels less weird-fiction  than it should. The layout, background and format make it hard to understand and parse at a glance.

There is definitely fun to be had  here, but I'd find this tricky to run personally!

I enjoy the premise and could see someone like Lin Carter writing a shortstory about this setting.

Super funny. Not sure how I’d bring this to the table, but it has some great ideas.

I’d love a longer version with multiple factions, and some more structure in the game rules.

Unique vision with a strong voice. I think the justification and background for the text made it a little harder to parse than it needed to be, but intriguing effort!

This one didn't stick the landing for me. If you told me it was a game inspired on Disney's Ratatouille I might have nodded along for theme choice, but as an Appendix N inspiration I am just not feeling it. It's not a 1, but not really a 3 for me either. I think I could get some ideas from this, but wouldn't bring it to a table.

There are some especially jarring choices for usability. The background graphic caused me to have issues reading it for example. The roll tables in tiny font turned sideways at two different angles was an especially baffling choice. I had to increase my screen size to even figure out what they were. If I printed this, my printer would probably just render it as entirely unreadable. I have no idea what system this is tied to, if any, but it mostly feels like setting for something else.

The single art item (such as it is) is a stamp whose text is difficult to read due to font choice and that when I attempted to translate it came out to 'Insured Bankruptcy', which didn't help me at all. I don't judge on typos, but there were several I caught that were pretty easy to find. Word choices too made it feel like English might not have been a first language here.

As a whole, I think there's an idea here that could be pretty gameable in the right circumstances, but as it is currently, I just wouldn't consider trying given the amount of outside effort it would take me to make it functional for my tables. Sorry. Good effort regardless though.

Fallimento Assicurato is my crew, here's our stuff: https://fallimento-assicurato.itch.io/

It's Italian, it means Fail Assured, as in "you can only be sure of your failure, everything else is to be earned the hard way".

Ah, okay. I was so confused when I ran it through a translator and it got Insured Bankruptcy. I knew there had to be a purpose, but was kind of at a loss. Thanks for clarifying the meaning. Hopefully others who review read your reply here so they don't have to rely on questionable internet translators.
