Honestly I am not really an authority on mixing as I'm not too good at it myself, people who really know what they're doing can say "there's something you should cut around the x-y kHz range" but whenever I have problems I basically either go running to people who know better or trial and error it. I could give another listen soon when I'm in a better listening environment, but I guess a general piece of advice would be to make sure you don't have too many mids and low-mids (you might know that already)

That's fair enough! Yeah, mixing music can be tough, especially with increasing amount of elements all fighting for room in the mix. Mids can be very unforgiving, I spent most of the EQing trying to mitigate piercing highs, and some on subs and lows I would say. But there's usually a huge battle going on in the mids of a mix, unless adressed, so that makes a lot of sense!
Anyway, if you want to give it another listen I'd appreciate it a whole lot, I definitely will study my tracks a lil extra myself, with your feedback in mind. So thanks a lot again for sharing your thoughts and ideas!
