The Biggest Challenge
Making a one-touch 'keep it in the green band' loop feel alive while honoring both themes. Tuning the heat physics so HOLD-to-heat / release-to-cool stays readable, then layering shrinking-ring spice pickups (a second timing rhythm) and the PEPPER waves that shove the needle around — all without it ever feeling unfair. The breakthrough was letting the pepper waves be the difficulty spike so CURRY (the simmer band) and PEPPER (the heat surges) drive the same core mechanic.

AI Tools Used
An AI coding agent that I direct end-to-end (prompt + iterate). All game code, the procedural canvas art, and the WebAudio sound were AI-written and hand-tuned.

Areas Where AI Was Used
Code (game logic, heat physics, daily seeding), Graphics (procedural HTML5 canvas art — pot, gauge, spices, particles), and Sound (WebAudio synthesis). No external/ripped assets.

I really like the simple, never-boring sound effects—they're just what you'd expect from a clicker game.

I also found it really fun that the combo doesn't end all at once but gradually decreases, which actually creates a sense of urgency.

However, it's tough that it never ends. There's no penalty for leaving it untouched, so the fact that you can continue playing as long as you keep the page open is an interesting system—but that's exactly why I can't finish it… Since it still seemed to be endless, I just cut it off about here. 😂

Anyway, It's a fun game. 🙂

Thank you, this is really useful — you nailed the biggest flaw. You were right that there was no downside to letting it sit, so a run never truly ended. I just pushed an update: now the pot can also go COLD, so if you neglect the heat it spoils and the run ends (a "went cold" fail to match "burnt"). It makes the green band matter in both directions. I also gave the different spices their own little sound so the beeps stop feeling repetitive. Thanks for taking the time to write this up!

It’s simple, and the bubbly sound effects are pleasing.

Since you don't get a "Game Over" unless you burn it, I found myself playing right at the bottom of the gauge and just kept going indefinitely.

If a "Game Over" were triggered by letting the level drop too low, it would add a bit more tension—which would be more to my liking.

Simple and so cool. Turns out hitting the right temp is everything!

It was the most entertaining way I found to pass the time.

I got a little tired halfway through, but the delicate controls actually kept me quite engaged! I may have gotten more absorbed in it than I expected.

It is nice that the gameplay is simple. I would like to see more depth and fine tuned controls if development continues

I think visually its good, audio is fine, might be improved by having each ingredient have a unique sound effect because the repetitive beeping might get old quick. It pretty quickly moved the dial to fiery and just stayed there - is that as far as the game goes? I was expecting more variety from the mechanics because it starts off really fun changing a couple of times right away which catches you off guard and makes it a fun challenge. Overall a good game!

It's a simple yet surprisingly delicate and fun game that requires precise, demanding heat control!
