Edit: Seems i forgot to mention payment details and engine. Unfortunately i do not have the means to pay wages, consider it a hobby project. What i can offer to make up for that is an equal creative voice in the project and a fair share of any profit that may be generated. The engine is godot, language C#.

Our group of 3 devs made this in a week for the Brackeys game jam, and the result — rushed systems, thin content, unfinished feel. But the concept is worth refining.

Rough scope:
A few hours of content, expansive dialogue, polished systems, and a mystery that keeps the player engaged through puzzles gradually increasing in difficulty and absurdity.
It's centered around the inexplicable revival of a dead language inside a hotel abandoned by everyone but the staff, who don't seem to acknowledge the lack of guests. As the player moves floor to floor, they meet strange characters and face existensial threats.

The jam version is playable here on itch.io right in the browser — it'll tell you more about the vibe than i can describe in words. https://pyreau.itch.io/tip-expected

What we're looking for:
If you try the game and have thoughts, or want to contribute, feel free to contact me. Areas we feel are lacking:

UI design - could use specialist work to blend in with the rest of the game.

VFX - we have strange concepts we'd like to portray immersively, e.g. the prototype's spotlight room, where we show the player's position without revealing his physical form, preserving the observer effect idea.

Music - we did well here, but our composer couldn't stay on post-jam; we'll need more tracks as we expand.

If interested we can continue discussion on discord, happy to hear from you!

Hey, I'm Eddy, a Godot developer. Saw your post looking for UI, VFX, and music help on your puzzle/mystery game after the jam - the concept sounds great. Didn't see whether this is a paid role or what engine you're using - if it ends up being paid and built in Godot, there's a free board for Godot jobs called godothire, takes about a minute to post. Good luck with the project either way! https://godothire.com/

Thanks for the advice! It's in godot, and it is rev-share because i don't have the means to do it any other way.

hey i am a music composer with experience! I would love to help with songs.

Alright, i'll take a look and be in touch!

Hey, WindWardPen I clicked the link to your game and I liked the art to your game. I think I could make a fitting track or two to your game. I could make something like this "Bulwark" track I made in the playlist below.

Also this link is for more music I've made

Nice music! As i just now clarified by editing the post, this project is rev-share. Sorry about being unclear. If you're still interested in collaborating you can send me your discord and we'll chat.

Hi! I’m interested in helping with the UI design for your game. I can create clean, atmospheric interfaces that fit the game’s existing style and overall mysterious tone. I’d be happy to share some relevant work and discuss the project further. Portfolio: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/G1eQvV Discord: williamjames0221

Hello, thanks for the interest! Quite a few composers have shown interest in working on this project and i'm in conversation with a few right now so i'm hesitant to recruit more at this point.

Hi, WindWardPen !

I’m RER NIK, an independent developer and the creator of Opalium. In addition to game development, I compose music and create audio for my projects.

I work in FL Studio and can tailor music to a game's atmosphere and style—ranging from background tracks and ambient soundscapes to more dynamic compositions.

As a game developer myself, I focus not just on individual tracks but on the project's overall atmosphere, specific scenes, and the emotions the sound is meant to evoke.

You can find examples of my work here: https://rernik.itch.io/ spotify:@Rernik

If you need a soundtrack, ambient music, or individual tracks for your project, I’d love to discuss it.

Hello, thanks for the interest. I am already conversing with a few composers who've shown interest so i can't promise anything. Would you be open to working on another aspect of the game? I see you've got quite a diverse skillset.
