Art is strong, and imaginery well worked out. It can improve a lot in gameablity imho
The art in this is really cool! Love you you did the maps. Overall the text is well-organized, but I feel that the font size is a bit too small, especially if someone would print it. Font choice is also on the boring side and doesn’t do justice to the rest of the material.
There’s a few things that are not clear to me: Is this meant to be a gauntlet? Should the players roll random pilgrims to see who they are playing? If not, should all players be a cleric of sorts? and how should I use the pilgrims table? I’m also missing a table for random encounters.
Besides that, fantastic use of the theme, with every aspect of the module oozing with flavor and interesting ideas.
Heya!
I'm organizing a collaboration between all of the Shadowdark Appx. N creators on Discord. If you're interested look me up in the SD Discord or reach out in DMs.
Lovely art in this entry! I wish the layout was a bit simpler, with less fonts and colors used to make the art stand out more and the whole thing to be a bit easier to grasp.
Apart from that, I liked the idea of using spells having a side effect later in the module, that’s really smart. The sci-fantasy theme is on point too.
Lots of typos, although none that make the meaning unclear. Worth having a third party do a read-through for any future edition you do.
Note that "divine magic" and "holy magic" aren't actually terms in Shadowdark -- these feel like they're leaking in from D&D.
Visually beautiful. Fantastic use of color.
I really like how important priestly magic is to this adventure. Having it charge up the divine machine isn't something I've seen before an is a really interesting clock to include in the adventure, although I'm not sure how much danger there is of it reaching 20 charges during an adventure.
Very strong ideas that would really shine with a revised edition once judging is finished.
This is dense content wise and on paper. A fascinating setup and a fantastic presentation (two more pages to let the information breath would be all it needs).
I feel already comfortable running this. But I think noone would pass two rooms?! What is the intended level? Are you assuming everyone play a cleric?
Really great entry!
Holy smokes, this is incredible! So much wonderful science-fantasy art, creative world-building, a three-part dungeon, high stakes puzzles and challenges, so many NPCs. I like how player magic in the Trials directly affects what the technosphinx can do in the Machine. Great work!
Lovely art, and those maps kick ass! 3 of them total, 2 isometric, on just 4 pages? Incredible!
I enjoyed the plot twist, and the overall theme of the module. Great work.
Fascinating science fantasy concepts. In love with the isometric maps and the art for the Overseer.
The layout and writing was a bit difficult to unpack at first but visually great with really cool concepts at work
Writing is a bit confusing, but the visuals and vibe are on point. I could see this as a task the group priest takes. Well done!
Such a uniquely formatted and laid out module, this one is likely to be the favorite of some science-fantasy enjoyers. Very high marks for theme given what this Jam calls back to. The best compliment I can give is that I want a zine sized version of what this is establishing!
Stunning art and cartography. Evocative, experimental, poetic.
Really lovely original artwork! I wonder if I can somehow steal the Overseer and plant them in a Vaults of Vaarn adventure.
Once I downloaded the pdf, it is really good!
Rad looking dungeon desgin, very cool module!
