How does your game meet GBJam's theme
In this game, you play as a detective for hire. Your newest job: Finding the long lost sequel to the hit game from the early 90’s, “Rubber Soles.” Not long ago, it surfaced on the web, and your contractor is paying you a wholesome sum of cash to go pick it up from a location they provided. Upon arriving at your destination you soon discover this artifact (or our game's 'old gold') has been entombed in a chamber of a man’s life, and some things are better off left buried.

I swear I did not know where to find the favorite figurine, I could not get past the majority of the game :(
This is immaculate. Favorite game of the jam (so far). I was hoping to find a use for the toilet rubba, but I'm still glad I carried him with me to the end.
I highly recommend playing this in the dark with the volume up.
Really nice. I especially enjoyed spending time with Robert. I was hoping he would offer to smoke me out, but that's ok. Great atmosphere, disorienting, mysterious, freaky. Nice storytelling through the found items. Two thumbs up from this true rub lover.
That's awesome, you got a good sense of his character! In the original intro I wrote for him he said something implying he is stoned out of his mind but we cut it because we decided to introduce him via the battle system instead

Ridiculously impressive for the time span and a super fun play through (Although I'll admit, I guessed the lock code right away and never looked in the dark room, so I definitely missed some stuff. Might come back if I feel up to it.) Naturally this could never be a real gameboy game though lmao.
Thanks for playing! That's wild that you guessed the code, there's something like 80 different pre-determined strings that get randomly chosen from on startup lol so I'm curious which one it was

Okay, admittedly when I signed up for the jam this year, I went and checked out a few games from GBJAM 13. Lifelik was my favorite one I played. So I was excited to see you back with another game. And I was not only not disappointed but blown away! This is really good! This is seriously impressive stuff. It's out there aesthetically, but this is the best game I've played in the jam so far. This could be a real, released game though obviously for anything but the Gameboy.

cool concept but my pc couldn't handle the game so couldn't play it. the music was too loud.
Thanks for playing! The performance was something we unfortunately didn't get around to fixing before it was time to submit, and it is very important (3 minute load time on web is definitely not ideal). After the jam I'd like to fix this so it is accessible to more people.

The graphics are so cool! It looks like the motion sequences are downscaled video? Very cool! Also, the premise is great, the characters are hilarious, and WOW the brother is terrifying. Awesome submission!
Very cool game! I loved all the little details hidden in the rooms and on items. My favorite part was talking to the people in and around the house.
awesome game, it can be a little hard to read at times but the attention to detail is really sick. i twisted my ankle and then died.
