I think you have a strong foundation! I thought the movement was fun and using the enemies to boost to the relic was neat. Once you implement the other ideas, I think it'll have a nice gameplay loop.

How does your game meet GBJam's theme
Monsters are gold as you get deeper in the dungeon they get older and stronger. Killing monsters drops gold that's how you mine.

I love the trail on the mining animation! super smooth. I like that you can run and how the main gameplay works, i just didnt understand how to get to the top part of the level if its possible. Also didnt know what to do with the gold or what to do in the tent. I did run into a similar bug like the other person in the comments where mining/attacking near certain objects made the game freeze/lag the player hard but for me it didnt crash, just sometimes made me lose my gold if i was near an enemy and they hit me. Other feedback i have is that the enemy walking/normal animation looked a lot like a car to me, but i do really like the enemy attack animation.
Thank you for playing! To reach the top part you need to jump on top of the last mob, so instead of killing it you should use as ladder haha. The game right now is incomplete, I couldn't add the Store or the Chest. The initial idea was to have an inventory to collect things, sell, buy... Bed would be the game save and also where you comeback after dying. HAHA yeah I heard a couple times that the enemy looks like a car. Thanks for the great feedback
Oh wow is this really your first gamejam game? You were really ambitious and the crazy thing is, you set out to do most of what you had accomplished! The controls feel fun and responsive, even if I find using UP key to jump a bit awkward, but they were really great otherwise.
I did find that if I pressed the mining button in certain areas the game would slow down or crash and I'd have to restart, but that was rare and I eventually learned to just not - mine against the ground or walls.
This is very polished work for a first release. great job!
Hi Mcportugalem! You are so kind! I've started several unfinished projects on my on, but on game jams this is the first one that I've actually published.
Thanks for the feedback!
I agree that arrow keys for movement is kind of weird...
If you could share a bit more about how to crash I would thank you. I couldn't find this one.
Although I solo dev, I've put a lot of effort during the jam period. I am so glad that you liked.
