This is genuinely polished in a way very few gamejam games are. The animations are detailed and colorful (I lolled the first time I killed a scorpion and a grave literally popped out, or when I died falling into a hole and my body went into skeleton). Even walking has multiple frames of animation and interaction!
This is a very nice megaman tribute though I must wish that you had chosen literally anything else for shooting your gun. Primary mouse click did not work very well on my laptop where I was playing with a trackpad. Still I appreciate that you took into account left handed players and offered both wasd and arrow keys to move. That's thoughtful!
Rating it high on graphics, and fun. And how can I not call it a gameboy spirit game when Megaman is on gameboy? Also taking "old gold" as a theme and turning it into the oil rush of the 19th century, and making it about oil was inspired.
