How does your game meet GBJam's theme
The game follows one known as a carrier, as he searches for the Old Gold hidden within the sea, that remained safe from the curse. Such gold is necessary to solder the missing parts, and repair an artifact he found in a safe down below, known in the Old World as a "Gameboy". With a theme of legacy and preservation through art, the "Old Gold" doesn't refer only to the literal old gold needed for the repair, but finding things from a forgotten past, and seeing them as something precious.

brilliant game, art work is great, love how chill it felt
Wow this game is incredible. The artwork was so impressive (I aspire to be this good), the music, while simple really fit the vibe, and I was invested in the story haha. Amazing job, you should be proud of yourselves.
Thank you so much aaaa!!!! My hand got tired from so much the drawing, so I'm very grateful for the comment!! And I'm happy you were invested in the story, we're pondering about polishing and expanding the game!
I think that's a great idea. I'd love to play an expanded version! Good luck to you guys!
Some really beautiful animation work here, and I liked that you leaned into a proper narrative. Really good job for your first jams, you should be proud
Thanks for the feedback, I'm glad you liked!
Thank you so much!!!!! I had a hard time animating the mc swimming (the feet kept looking wrong 😭) so I'm happy it worked out and really appreciate that you liked it!
My computer engineering degree and electronics repair hobby really got in the way on the soldering section lol. I was trying to figure out why the soldering iron sparked like a welding iron and what I was supposed to do with the ICs on the board, and trying to see if I could decipher the circuit board traces, instead of tracing the path clearly laid out in there.
A well-crafted experience, in whole. The controls were fitting for the experience, the minimal music and sound really worked well here. The old gold being to repair electronics is not quite the direction I expected, and the use of a GameBoy in that situation felt delightfully on-the-nose for the jam.
I did notice the parallax creating mixels (following the post-upscale size as pixels rather than pre-upscale), but that's relatively minor all things considered. I had to go out of my way to even notice.
Thanks a lot for the feedback. I was the programmer of the team and also part-time electronic repair guy and yes, the soldering session was built not to be realistic in any way. The parallax creating mixels was a issue we noticed during development, but to avoid that, the parallax had to move in discrete steps to match the low resolution, which means it would be snapping to the grid constantly. We did implement, but the results were very nauseating and we opted to leave it as it is. Again, thanks for playing and I'm glad you enjoyed!
Thank you!!!! I'm happy you enjoyed it! The soldering almost didn't make it in time 😭
