Really love the art style, and the ship sprite especially. Great work C:

For what is here, it is nice. I like the graphics and I like the battles. Wish there was more but was cool in concept.

Developer

Thanks, I wish there were more time. I will extend the game sometime. :)

Love the pokemon style ship battles, the exclamation mark before an encounter and player used cannons are great touches. the little splashes around the ship as it sails are a nice detail too. nice job

Developer

Thank you, I think I will extend the game in the near future :)

I thought it was a nice game; the ship battle is a good idea, but there's a small bug preventing me from moving to the last tile next to the enemy ship—which would die in a single hit. I wandered around a bit to see if there was a map boundary and took advantage of diagonal movement to navigate through the rocks and wood as far as the procedural map allowed (or at least I assume it was procedural; if not, hats off to you for the patience required to place those assets by hand). I hope you feel better soon.

Developer

Hey thanks for the kind words. The map is procedurally generated yes, there are no fixed boundaries, but obstacle generation gets more common the more you go in a direction, so after a while there will be no more open space to go.
