How does your game meet GBJam's theme
my game was inspired by the anime i watch: One Piece. i had an idea of swapping the roles between the marines and the pirates

Defiantly felt like a true Gameboy game!

Short but fun. The opening cutscene was cute, and the whole thing has strong Game Boy asthetic.

Marines vs pirates role swap is a funny premise. Soundtrack's super catchy too, I have it stuck in my head.

Short but fun.  More than one life would be nice, but the game is short enough that it's not a struggle.  I did beat the boss and escape. :D

Definitely getting big GB vibes from this. The opening cutscene was cute :)

The reason for runing is very fun and silly in all the right ways. I am notoriously bad at platforming and wasn't able to get very far but for what I did achieve and see I enjoyed! The palette is also very nice and easy on the eyes (a very good thing for me haha I have sensitive eyeballs)

I like the story! It's a little punishing going all the way back to the title if you fall in the water - breaks the immersion a tad...

Nice game, it was pretty hard though, and some of the mechanics could be tweaked. Also, the music started to get annoying, especially when it would pause if you killed someone. I didn't see the connection to the theme either.

The game is quite short, but it has a really interesting concept. With a few more levels, it could feel much more complete. The music is also really catchy and fits the game very well!

There are some issues with the gameplay such as pirates being able to damage you even after they die and your attack speed being generally inconsistent.

Having no continues or lives (not to be confused with health) seems rather punishing but the game itself isnt too difficult nor lengthy, so I can excuse that.

The music was pretty good, and the graphics are alright. The cutscene at the beginning was pretty funny too.

Congratulation on finishing a game ! I liked the music and graphism.

This is hard as anything, but it works. So good job

I really like the color pallet and art. Nice cut scene at the beginning! Funny premise!

Being sent all the way to the beginning feels pretty punishing and the blind jumps on the second stage don't help with that either but good job finishing and submitting a game!

Thanks, it was inspired by that one game i played: Castlevania: The Adventure and Castlevania: Belmont's Revenge

Maybe I didnt get far enough but I didnt really see the connection to the theme. I loved the music and graphics are really charming, particularly the opening cutscene. The gameplay felt a bit stiff and slow, and I found that I was having to basically walk the character off of one ledge to get to the next, which doesnt feel great. Great job getting it put together in time though!

ah, thanks, i thought the theme was pirates, because of the picture so i thought of an idea about swapping the roles of pirates and marines, which was funny to be honest
