This game was indeed, quite relaxing! I really liked the fish sprites. Great job!

How does your game meet GBJam's theme
The secondary theme is OLD GOLD. For us in Critter Lake that means the treasure's and experiencing you find and form while casting into the waters and reeling in your dream. Or maybe just the dreams of your fellow critter's.

The gameplay is good, but i just don't like the fact the fish move in this game, the graphics are good, the music and sound is great. Oh, and also, I'm not sure if it adequately fits the theme, but yea.
This was such a greaat little game! I really like how you guys did the fishing mechanics! The artwork was also fantastic. Great submission! I also made a fishing game so feel free to check it out if you want to but I think you guys crushed it!
Cute!! 💚 The art and designs are clean and charming, and the mechanics are competent and cozy. It's a pleasant late-spring / early-summer day condensed into to a few minutes. Love the gator / croc!
In the future, specifically for resolution-restricted jams like GBJAM or low res jam, be mindful that the game resolution isn't higher than the art resolution. The movement of fish and the bob isn't restricted to the grid, and some of the text is misaligned or mis-sized.

The page says this is made in Godot. Assuming you and I are using relatively similar versions of Godot 4: while there is a lot of nuance and a lot of edge cases, the simplest "starting point" to having the correct design resolution is going to Project Settings under [Display > Window] and setting the viewport width / height to 160 x 144 (or desired resolution) and setting the Stretch > Mode to "viewport" instead of "canvas_items" (so the entire view is stretched as-is from the desired resolution, instead of being "enhanced" to a higher one).
All-in-all, great work!
Solid viiiibes 🎣 a cool little fishing game. I would have loved to walk between these locations in a little Summer camp type setup but I get that this would have added a lot of scope - especially with the colour pallet changes! The fishing mechanic was very intuitive, nice work.
This is a solid fishing game. Way better than what we got in stardew valley :P. Music's nice, art's nice. It's a fun little game.
I had a great time fishing! The color palettes of the shop and quest menus were a little dark for my eyes though.
I love fishing games, and it's so cozy! The music was also really great!
Good old fishing game, very nostalgic. This game feels really polished, looks beautiful and the music is very nicee :> Only thing i would say could be improve is the reeling in, didn't really understand how it works fully but it can be just me.
The art and music in this game is fantastic. The art especially is super crisp and clear. The fishing mechanics are fun, though I think you can kinda cheese the reeling mechanic by tapping rapidly to detect when the line becomes stable without losing a lot of ground.
Also, I maxed out my fish/reel scores after selling all the fish from the lake 1 time. Not sure if that's intentional... also not sure if that had impact on my fishing abilities... it seemed like similar difficulty before/after the upgrades.
