I like the idea. I haven't played a text adventure in a while and this was well written. I particularly liked the part about the ducks, crazy imagery. I do wish you had more time to flesh it out though. The paths that end abruptly were very anticlimactic, perhaps you could've quickly drummed up some horrific ways to die and scattered them in the dead end pths?

Developer(+1)

That's a really good idea, and what's a bummer is that would have been super easy to implement. I had some deaths done for when you go insane, die of hunger, etc. and I could have just randomly set one of those stats to a deadly amount when you hit a dead end.
Dang!
Thanks for playing and thanks for the idea :D

Hey BrokenVial, really cool concept!

Love some interactive fiction. Excited to see what becomes of it if you decide to develop it further.

I think with the right music/sfx and art/styling this could shape up really nicely.

Enjoyable as is though and I liked the setting and the narrative questions it raised.

Good job!

Definitely going to juice this game up after the jam.
Thanks for playing! :D

It's a really interesting concept, we think it could improve a bit with some visual elements as you go further with the story, but overall it was entertaining, nice job!

What a interesting and simple narrative game, really well written

But as some other's have said, some styling would've been more fun, like custom container design, some background or shader would do job fine :)

Good job!

I was in the middle of a two week trip during this jam, so I was limited and decided pure text was all I could do lol. Maybe when I expand it I can take a look at adding some visual flare.
Thanks for playing!

I was immediately drawn in by what was going on in the world, so many questions! My only complaint was there wasn't enough of it :)

Developer

Goodish problem to have! I do want to keep going with this one after the jam.
Thanks for playing!

Ambitious! I do wish more paths had a few more choices, but that just makes the scope bigger and bigger. That said, it's enjoyable as is.

Developer

Thanks! On Sunday I just started cutting cutting cutting lol.
Thanks for playing :D

IDK much about narrative games, nor about writing in general, so take this with a grain of salt. That said overall very cool. Maybe I took the intended path at first and it made my reaction, but then it is intuitive, at least for me. And very well written!

Really well written, and I like the interface (though it could use a bit more visual interest). Its a bit annoying when you hit a dead end and have to go back through everything you've already done to take a different path, but that's a minor issue at this stage. Overall, good work!

Developer

Thanks! I was actually making visual changes right up to the last minute because I realized that was a problem. My dev deluded eyes were used to it lol
That's a good idea to have some sort of checkpoint system to help with re-exploring. Maybe not at every branch but maybe allow for different starting points if you've reached there previously or something like that.
Thanks for playing!
