How does your game meet GBJam's theme
In the game you have to collect coins (gold) from an old Japanese castle. There's some lore about how the owner hoarded wealth which attracted cursed spirits which you have to fight.

So cute! You did a great job capturing the feeling of being a little kid lost in a new big place. My one critique is that the camera smoothing made it a bit hard to see what was in front of me. But I had fun and I would love to see more of this!

I love the art design. You captured the Japanese atmosphere very well. Had a lot of fun playing it, keep going!

Developer

Thank you, I'd love to expand the game a bit with new power ups and some more to do in the hub area like side quests.

I liked the Japanese castle setting, it gives the game a nice atmosphere, and the unusual palette gives it a pretty distinctive look.

The cover art is really nice too!

Developer

Thanks! I had to be a bit creative with how to colour things since there is no black in the palette. I'm glad you liked it.

I really like the dreamy vibe and the palette used. I think I found a bug that lets you buy everything from the shop without any gold 😅

Thanks for letting me know! I'll see if I can re-create that bug.

I like the japanese aesthetics you went for. Also i like the gameplay. Great job!

Very fun game with great combat. The shooting enemies feels a bit OP so it would've been better if their shooting range was a bit lower.

Developer

Thanks! I agree actually, those guys did my head in when I was playtesting! I might decrease their range, or at least let you destroy their projectiles by attacking them.
