How does your game interpret and use the theme?
We flippe the theme a little: the house itself is looking for a new place to live. Tired of the city, it escapes to the forest in search of a new home. It's a puzzle game about escaping from your owner, one step at a time.

WOAH, THE HOUSE ITSELF IS TRYING TO RUN AWAY HOME?! ๐ ๐ฒ๐๐ฅ
This is such a clever twist on โThe Long Way Homeโ! Making the house the character that wants to escape the city and find a new home in the forest gives the theme a really fresh personality. The puzzle gameplay is also surprisingly engaging, with simple rules creating some genuinely challenging situations. The art style, illustrations, music, and overall presentation feel incredibly cohesive and polished too.
I think the biggest thing to improve would be giving a little more visual polish to a few gameplay elements, especially things like the jump/hole areas and player positioning. A tiny bit more feedback there could make the puzzles feel even smoother. Beyond that, adding even more levels or mechanics would be amazing because the core puzzle system has a lot of potential.
SUCH A BEAUTIFUL, CREATIVE, AND WELL-CRAFTED JAM ENTRY! ๐ ๐ฒ๐งฉโจ 60 HOURS OF ART, CODE, MUSIC, AND POLISH REALLY SHOWS AMAZING WORK, AND GOOD LUCK WITH THE JAM! ๐ฎ๐ฅ
Thank you, glad you liked it! We intent to polish the barriers and release a post jam version.
The game has a really nice look to it, I especially loved the graphics and illustrations, as well as the puzzle design. I really enjoyed it, great job. :D
Thanks for playing our game :D
Funny idea and good execution. But why is my house happy when he is shown his place?
Thanks for playing! Nothing shakes our little home, she's always happy.
A great puzzle game with a fresh twist! I got hooked for almost an hour, which I think says it all)) Good work, and the art is gorgeous!
Thank you so much for playing our game! Glad you had a fun time!
This was a really well crafted puzzle game, and perfect for a jam with a good difficulty curve. I could reach level 12, but wasnt able to solve that one! The puzzles are really done well and just with a few rules which are quite easy to understand have a surprisingly good amount of challenge! Im not really into puzzle games, but i really enjoyed this one! The art is also done well except for a few elements like the house jump hole and player space which felt a little bit unpolished. I see your interpretation of the theme, but im not sure it really fits the 'long' way home.. atleast thats my subjective opinion on that! Overall though its a great game, congrats :)
Thank you so much for playing! Glad you had a fun time despite not being into puzzle games, as i said in another comment we tried our best to balance everything but the time is short and making the level design is the hardest process so the curve may not be the best. We also spent a lot of time thinking about the "barriers" and ended up choosing something thematic but also color coded to make it easier to understand, however it can be improved, for sure! About the theme: i mean, it's a giant house with legs and shes walking!
Great game, everything works well together. The gameplay is smart, the art is cohesive, the story is funny. Amazing work!
Thanks! We had a lot of fun making it!
Really fun game! Everything feels very polished and it is great in literally all the categories. Also I may be stupid but the last level took me 20 minutes and I still don't know how I did it.
Thank you so much for playing our game and glad you liked it! Also, you are not stupid haha the last level was supposed to be the hardest, so it's ok. We had two friends testing it to balance the difficulty, and yet the results may not be the best but if you had fun, that's all that matters.
The design and artwork are phenomenal. Everything feels cohesive, polished, and full of personality, and the theme is implemented really well.
The music is great too. It has this old-school cartoon meets classic adventure game feel that fits the presentation perfectly.
The gameplay itself feels like a traditional puzzle game in the same broad family as Solitaire or those sliding-tile picture puzzles where you rearrange pieces until everything is in the right place. Simple concept, but satisfying to work through.
Overall, this is a top-notch jam game. Very polished, very well presented, and clearly had a lot of care put into it.
Thanks for playing our game, glad you liked it! We had a lot of fun making it!
The puzzles were well balanced in difficulty, which made the game enjoyable :)
