Interesting concept, though I wasn't skilled or patient enough to actually hit any the targets; It probably would help to have some like wind line particles or birds or something to make the wind layers more visible. There was some odd issue with the hand collider where it'd glitch out on the controls (maybe physics layer issues), but mostly worked other than that on the steam frame through lepton.
Really cool concept, I definitely felt adrift!
I noticed I was positioned pretty low and couldn't reset my height in game while sitting, though that might be intended since standing worked. Also lost one of the ropes off to the side at one point.
Really cool idea! Very difficult though. I think I enjoyed just flying around and listening to the music more than trying to land on the targets :-) I also liked that you could turn the music on/off via the radio - it gave a very different vibe on vs off. Wonderful realization of the theme. Great job!
Really interesting idea. With walkthrough it much more clear how the controls are meant to be used. Overall the experience felt smooth. Liked the radio :) And you definitely nailed the theme!
Thanks a lot for testing our game.
I wanted to add a few hints (a page with all wind layers and the "spiral" path you follow when landing), but it was too big of a spoiler IMHO.
The sound is great!
I did not understand what I could do when the balloon was just drifting away from the play area.
I managed to hit a target though!
Thanks a lot for testing our game. 😊
We use Wwise for sound. It's a bit overkill for jams, but it's a really powerful audio middleware, and Godot integration is really good.
When pushed away from the area, just find the altitude where the wind leads you back to the center. 😉
I liked some of the small details that you added like the waving flag. You nailed the theme of the game jam. The scenery reminded a little of Mario and Dragonball.
Thanks a lot for testing our game!
The waving flag is not a detail, it's part of the gameplay (that's how you know about the wind). ;)
The feeling of being adrift is definitely there. Like the openness of the balloon basket and the music fit the theme nicely.
On Quest 3 the hands went a bit wonkey. The basket is z-fighting (flashing). Probably two basket models in the same position!
Thanks, really enjoyed it, even though the targets are very optimistic!!
Yes I'll have to polish interaction and check that z-fighting problem. Thanks!
Flying was fun. I didn't manage to hit any targets, but I gave it my best.
Thanks for testing our game. I added a small walkthrough video to the project page.
Awesome! I really enjoyed floating around. I wasn't able to land on any targets though.
Thanks a lot, glad you enjoyed our game!
I added a short walkthrough video to the project page.
This was really relaxing, I liked the visceral feeling of using the ropes.
Sadly, the winds where not in my favor 😀
Thanks a lot for trying out our game.
I added a short walkthrough video to the project page.
You control your altitude, and the wind does the rest.
I hope you'll enjoy this little game. Please don't hesitate to post a screenshot of the score display if you manage to hit a few targets. ;)
Only the Windows and Quest builds have been tested (on Quest 3), so please don't hesitate to report any problems.
