This made me very nostalgic for old Flash / Flixel games. 💚 Very stylish use of solid color. I like the protagonist's wobbly walk!

In the future, specifically for resolution-restricted jams like GBJAM or low res jam, be mindful that the game resolution isn't higher than the art resolution. The movement of objects isn't restricted to the grid.

The page says this is made in Godot. Assuming you and I are using relatively similar versions of Godot 4: while there is a lot of nuance and a lot of edge cases, the simplest "starting point" to having the correct design resolution is going to Project Settings under [Display > Window] and setting the viewport width / height to 160 x 144 (or desired resolution) and setting the Stretch > Mode to "viewport" instead of "canvas_items" (so the entire view is stretched as-is from the desired resolution, instead of being "enhanced" to a higher one).

All-in-all, great work!

Ah darn! I thought I had it right! I saw someone mention how to fix it on the Discord but I think I misunderstood exactly what was going on. These were the settings I had for the game, but after changing the mode from canvas_items to viewport just now, I see the difference clear as day.

Thanks for the catch, and also the fix! I know I can't go back and fix my issue, so lesson learned.
