Asking for a basic feature like gender selection isn't "entitlement", it’s a standard request for a game relying on community support and donations. Devs love receiving financial support from everyone, including women, but when we ask to be included, we are suddenly told to "go away" and labeled selfish. You can defend this lazy exclusion all you want, but ignoring a segment of your audience while taking community money is hypocritical. I have every right to voice my disappointment as a player

Ignoring segments of the audience to prioritize what the dev actually wants to do is very normal, by the way.

Asking for community support also doesn't make it so that you have to listen to every person in the audience, either. If you don't get what you're looking for, just move forward and find something else. Community support was never mandatory.

There is a huge difference between a single person's whim and the systemic exclusion of an entire group of players. When games rely on community donations, it is completely normal to ask for basic inclusion like gender choice. No one is forcing the dev, but we have every right to voice our disappointment as female players. Feedback is how games grow, and ignoring it won't change the fact that we exist and support this genre too.

They are writing the story they want to write, there's no systemic exclusion. You're just not happy the game isn't for you.

And it's completely normal for the dev to choose that's not the direction they want for their game. If a make a game about a straight couple that doesn't mean I HAVE to make a gay/lesbian pairing option just because parts of my community are gay/lesbian. Why did they decide to support my work?

Then voice your disappointment without saying you deserve it. You deserve nothing.

Are you giving feedback or are you making a demand? If the dev reads your feedback and decides to remain male focused because it matches the story they want to tell.....is that ignoring you? Or prioritizing the game they wish to make? Think carefully.

"there's no systemic exclusion" and than like 80% of porn games mainly cater to male audiences.

You're not asking. Using the term "deserve" means you're demanding, even if that's not your intent. And yes, saying you deserve something you did not create or invest heavily in (key words there) is in fact entitlement.

Yes devs love receiving financial support from everyone WHO ENJOYS THEIR WORK not someone who throws money in and then start making demands because the thing they willingly supported with themes up front and center wasn't to their liking. Yeah, that's called being selfish. You ignored what the game was and started "asking" for it to be changed. (Please notice how I'm not talking about the "female audience" but YOU specifically.)

Ignoring a segment of your audience while taking community money is in no way hypocritical, don't use words you don't know the meaning of. You willingly gave money to support THIS game as it is. The dev did not seek you out, you sought out this game and decided to support them. If it's not to your liking and you supported them thinking you can ask them to make it to your liking, you are just dumb.

Yeah, and I said you have the right to voice your complaint. It's one of your two only rights. Do you remember what the other one was?

Resorting to caps lock and calling me "dumb" just because you ran out of valid arguments is a classic sign of defeat. Imagine throwing a tantrum and gatekeeping a game because a female player left a polite suggestion. You can repeat your "go away" rule as much as you want, but it won't erase the fact that female gamers are a real part of the audience who have every right to give feedback on active indie projects. Keep screaming into the void, your fragile ego is showing!
