Description
A short, imaginary storyline

I imagine Im entering a level of the game, going out in a small boat,

onto the dark-blue water bathed in moonlight

it’s hard to tell whether these waters are safe

It seems as though the water is making a curious, crying sound – perhaps begging for help, or perhaps luring you into the depths

Yet it allows you to keep flowing, despite the mist that fights against the peacefulness of the water.

This level focuses on pure exploration.

I used a Zoom H5 to record crickets myself, in some Polish countryside.

I used plugins such as Velvet, Labs, Hybrid and a looooot of Convolver.

I tried not to overthink it, and on top of that I’ve been ill these past few days, so I didn’t even have the energy to add anything soo :D

Thank you for listening! kindest regards<3

Nice ambient piece. Kinda minimalist, but good musical foundation and nice mix. Good job!

Developer

thanks!

Very solid mixing. Definitely ambient. I think it could move around just a little bit more, and have a little more variation in what the music is trying to say, but it definitely works.

Great work! :)

thanks <3!

This is one of the most ambient tracks I have heard so far and it fits really well with the theme. It might be better if it had a bit more variation in it, just changing around the melody a bit? But overall I really liked it!

Developer

wow appreciate it! that’s lovely to hear<3

Great job overall. With a track as slow-paced as this, the percussion, though minimal, does a lot to help provide a sense of momentum, especially by not always having it present. The reverb is enough, the dynamics are soft but present. I would have loved some water effects to really sell the theme. That is the only thing missing from this piece. Again, excellent job!

thanks a lot =)

Mystical vibes. Love how you waited to make the water appear. I found the whole piece very nuanced and organic. At the one minute mark the leit motif started to feel a bit repetitive, but the fact it appeared at irregular intervals helped to keep it interesting. There's a good pacing and usage of dynamics with the swells, and the percussion is specially tasteful. One can feel the nostalgia in these foggy waters of yours.

Smooth, peaceful, it works, I like the pads when its getting into the minor chords that you layered with your main melodic instruments it adds a very nice texture. Good job !
