Awesome Cover Art!

The gameplay was pretty confusing to be honest. I understand what kind of game you were trying to make, but I found the execution to be a bit odd. I could not get past the first fight against the Ursa Bears as I found the telegraphs for their attacks to be hard to see, and I could get a grasp on the mechanics of the player's attack, and it felt pretty uncomfortable to use. I found the bosses to have a crazy amount of health, and a lot of the times I tried to go for an attack, I ended up taking damage due to how short the player attack is. I really like what you are going for here, but it really needs a lot of polish in almost aspects here.

The visuals were generally fine, but again the animations for the bosses attacks were pretty confusing and it was hard to tell what attack they were performing because of it. Each aspect of the visuals on its own is decent though!

Audio was missing in a few departments. I think simply adding a few extra sound effects and/or music would go a long way.

The theme was interesting though! I liked interpreting to make the game based around stars, and I thought the execution was solid. Good Job!

OKAY, THIS CONSTELLATION IS FIGHTING ITS WAY HOME! 🌌⭐⚔️🔥

I really like the idea of turning “The Long Way Home” into a journey through the stars. The constellation theme is creative and gives the game a unique identity, while the fast combat and cute enemy animations make the experience surprisingly action-packed. The character and constellation artwork also have a really charming style.

The combat could use a little more polish, especially the first encounters. A slightly longer attack range, clearer hit effects, and stronger sound feedback would make attacks and damage much easier to understand. Balancing the early bosses a bit could also help players get into the game before the difficulty ramps up.

SUCH A COOL FIRST GAME JAM ENTRY, ESPECIALLY WITH ONLY THREE DAYS OF DEVELOPMENT! 🌌⭐🎮 The concept and visual personality really stand out, and there’s a solid foundation here to build on. Great work, and good luck with the jam! 🚀✨

Maybe its a hard game, but i like those challenges XD

The art is good, and the sound maybe add more effects or something to make it beter.

For the short time you work is a really good work, nice try and good game.

This was difficult!

Maybe it’s just me, but Ursa Major and Minor were unbeatable. I think visually it is really interesting and communicates most elements well. The sound seems to be missing a few elements that could have given more player feedback.

The gameplay is fast, smooth, and action-y. Very engaging.

Solid entry!

Really cute cover art!
It's a bit of a pity that the level doesn't look like space and seems a bit unpolished (sprite sorting doesn't work).

Fun idea of making a game centered around boss fights, although I think the first one is a bit too difficult (the fact there are two bosses at once, they have a lot of HP, it seems difficult to target them etc.). Maybe that's a skill issue on my part, but couldn't get past them ^^"

It's an interesting take on the jam's theme. I like games about constellations, there's something magical and cute about them.

Nice game! The animation was really cute, and I enjoyed the gameplay too. My main feedback would be to add some kind of visual or sound effect when the player gets hit, because at first I didn’t understand why I was losing health.

Other than that, great job! If you have some time, feel free to try my game too and let me know what you think! :)

The art and animations are really beautiful, Ursa Major rolling is quite fun.

The gameplay of charging, going in for a quick attack then running felt very rabbit-like and was fun. Some more variance in the enemies/attack patterns might help here. Or maybe a level with obstacles so I couldn’t just run to avoid the earthquake so easily. More enemies with lower health would likely also help the feel.

Great job for just a few days!

Hey, well done on the entry! I loved the artwork, the title image, characters and backgrounds are really unique. The combat was a bit difficult for me, the melee range of the player seems to be very less, so you have to really get up close to the enemies to hit them and the damage is also very less. I couldnt get past the first 2 - ursa major and minor. I would suggest tuning down the difficulty especially the first encounter. The attack animations of the enemies were really cute though. Maybe adding a bit more feedback on the combat would also make it easier to understand when the player/ enemies are being hit. Well done overall on the entry, 3 days is really a short time to come up with something execute it!

Cute art and concept, it's an interesting take on the theme of the jam!

Now top down combat is hard to nail, and close-range attacks + touch damage don't mix very well in my opinion and can feel unfair to the player. You need to take lots of risk for little reward.

That was a challenging concept to put together and you made it into a good little game!
