How does your game meet GBJam's theme
When I heard of the theme "Old Gold," I thought of the Midas Touch for the "gold" part, and a large stronghold for the "old" part. Since I'm not great at making good jump mechanics, I made the character not jump as a main feature.

Thank you for everyone who played and/or rated The Midas Gauntlet! I will be updating the game as a complete package sometime next year. In the meantime, it would be great to check out my current and upcoming projects, thank you!

Polished and satisfying to play, really like the pixel art too!

This has a great feel/vibe to it, and the puzzle platforming is interesting. Definitely left me wanting more.

Really good as a demo, but it need's some more levels that present a bit more of puzzle. I got stuck if I ran over a box that I pushed into the whole. Otherwise good job and I think you could push the mechanics you got to make a good puzzle game! I'd appreciate if you left our team a rating as well.

despite a few problems with collisions (which I read were addressed by other users too), the idea and the graphics are pretty cool!

thats a good game turning unmovable objects into a movable object is kinda a unique mechanic

This was fun! I enjoyed your take on puzzle platforming. It's a genre I often do not enjoy so, that I did enjoy this says something!

The graphics are good. Well drawn, easy to read. Your palette is great, the golden hues really match the vibe of the game and the jam.

Soundtrack is good, I enjoyed it. My only complaint here is that moving through levels quickly meant I really only heard the opening few notes. To hear the whole song I had to slow down for a moment.

Gameboy soul? You got it.

Quirkiness: Your midas touch interpretation feels pretty danged quirky to me!

Theme interpretation: There is gold, it is old. BAM!

Thank you!

Really cool idea! I'd love to see more later. Unfortunately, I ran into a small issue with collisions: when I make contact with the ball or the gold cubes while on top of them, I get stuck :x sometimes I just can't get away :c

This issue was a bit of a hassle but I'll figure out a solution to these softlocks when I make an update. Thank you for enjoying regardless!

Very interesting concept! I liked the idea of the midas touch being an actual gauntlet. I did get a bit confused on the last level, a bit sad you didn't get to finish everything. This has promise, I am a big fan of puzzle games like this!

Developer

Yeah, the last level is unfinished due to deadline crunch, and I didn't have time to make some sort of end screen. Thank you, and I'll try to make more with this idea!

I liked your demo! I thought it was fun and creative having the midas touch as a feature.

Developer

Thanks!

Nice, I like the double meaning of gauntlet being both a glove and as trial !

It makes you want to solve more of them.

Thanks, I'll try to make more with this game idea in the future!
