Hey, I came across Cyanotype and saw that you’re looking for people to try the game and give honest feedback. I help indie developers get their games in front of more players through game promotion and outreach. I had a few ideas that could help get more people discovering Cyanotype. Would you be open to hearing them?

Yes, of course. Shoot !

Sure. Since you’re already looking for people to try Cyanotype, I’d focus first on getting it in front of the right kind of players rather than just trying to get as many people as possible.

A few things I’d try:

Reach out to small creators who already play similar games and ask if they’d be interested in checking it out.

Make a few short clips showing the most interesting parts of the game and use them to get people curious about the full game.

Share it in smaller gaming communities where the game actually fits, instead of posting it everywhere.

Keep pushing the playtest while collecting feedback, so the people who enjoy it can help spread it naturally.

I can help with the creator outreach, email campaigns, promotion and content side of that if you’re interested. If you want, I can also take a closer look at Cyanotype and tell you what I’d focus on first.

Thanks for taking the time to share these suggestions, they make sense.

To be clear about where I'm coming from: Cyanotype is a free, experimental solo project, so growing the player count isn't really my goal the way it would be for a commercial release, and I'm not looking for promotion or outreach services. That said, if you have a specific community in mind where you think the game would genuinely fit, I'd be glad to hear about it!

What I'm really after is discussing game design with people like you and the others in this thread: what works, what doesn't, what deserves more development. It's also easy to miss something that seems obvious to a fresh pair of eyes, and that kind of feedback is exactly what helps me fix it. So if you do give the game a try, I'd love to hear what you think.
