Deindexed, quarantined and no response since April 2026

Ticket IDs: 360393 (Apr, initial ticket) 382915 (Jul, re: 1GB upload limit), 393885 (Aug, re: deindexing), 401337 (Sep, re: deindexing+quarantine)

I received 1 response in May from itch.io citing perceived character age in a NSFW game as the reason for the deindexing, and have not received any further response (not even on a different ticket just asking for a higher upload limit). My main issue with this is obviously that, at least in my eyes, this is an unjust deindexing. My characters *are* fairly lithe, but their relative body proportions don't exactly scream underage, and they have mature faces. However, without wanting to argue about my game specifically, lets just say the rule has been applied justly - why are there still NSFW games indexed on the platform with characters that do look like *actual* children (some of these games literally take place in HIGH SCHOOL too)? I did raise these games in my tickets, and they're still indexed while mine isn't which is... interesting.

I wasn't sure if maybe the inconsistent application of the rule was due to my game being a loose parody of an existing game and the rule was applied based on that original game? But even then, there are NSFW parody games (1:1 parodies too, unlike mine which is fairly derivative) on itch.io where the canonical characters are underage in both the original game and their parody game so I'm just not sure why it's only my game that's been deindexed and all my support tickets are being ignored (even ones not related to the deindexing).

I’ve let our admins know about your ticket.

Your game is quarantined. Read your own comment section for a likely cause for that. If you keep doing that, the system will constantly think your account is hacked. That would be my guess.

As long as your game is in quarantine, it will not be indexed, because quarantine also removes games from the index.

And if there is trouble about your game, it would not be in quarantine, but it would be suspended. But Itch might still have decided to delist it. They can chose to do so. Indexing is an optional feature of the site. It is not guaranteed. Slinging mud on other games that are indexed, is never a good argument. If we start that, we can start delisting a huge portion of  Itch games for being low quality games or ai slop. About 1.2 million games on Itch do not even have a rating.

About your upload limit, unless you have animations in your game, or a ton of images it should not be so big. Use webp lossy, if you do not already. With 1GB you can have about 5000-10000 good quality lossy webp images. Your 1st screenshot compresses from 529kb to 33kb with default setting of 75.

As I mentioned, itch.io did reply to my very first ticket, and the exact text was: "You would need to remove content depicting minors or minor presenting characters in sexual situations in order for us to be able to relist your page." but yes, the game is *also* quarantined, and the quarantine happened a while after the deindexing (hitting me while I'm down :D)

I don't mean to sling mud on other games, which is why I haven't linked them here, but I just wanted to point out that the rules are being applied inconsistently where my game has been delisted for this reason whereas other games - that are in actual violation of the rules - remain listed.

There are animations in the game, though, yes the images probably could be compressed further with a lower quality - but I'm paranoid about doing that when phones and PCs aren't exactly hurting for space so I'd prefer to just have a larger file size than reduce image quality.

You did do so.

Do not waste people's space to have uncompressed ai images. Especially not with that paranoia reason. You are a developer, you should have the skills to learn about how this works instead of being afraid of it . There is no information worth keeping in such images. It is not pixel art. They were generated by an algorithm. They will compress very good without visible quality loss. Even if you see some pixels change, that's the dithering the ai put in there to have it look a certain shade. The compression will keep the shade, but the individual pixels are not important.

If you do not want to advertise the issues your game has, you can remove this thread. Discussing specific adult games in public community message board is not exactly the scope of this board. It is accessed by minors.

Oh yeah, they don't reply on emails and the moderator reply like this:

How it's that possible???!!

I don't think the moderator can do much other than forwarding the issue to the admins, but yes it is quite disappointing to be ignored by the admins for over 5 months now.
