How does your game interpret and use the theme?
The idea of The Void started with an origin story which is heavily influenced by the theme, where a lantern had been lit in hopes of guiding some lost traveler back home. That traveler never made it back.
The game’s theme, “The Long Way Home”, heavily inspired the idea of Wick’s adventure, since Wick’s direct way home is cut off so he has to make his way across several islands in order to gain friends, items, and his sword in order to get back to his destination. However, when he gets back he finds his destination has been destroyed. His long way home led him to make friends, so his home is them. The whole game stemmed from the theme.

Though I may have used AI for the visuals and art, the entire creative process, story, visual ideas, and effects all came from me. AI only assisted me to create my vision. not create the vision FOR me.

I like the environment and the music. This looks like a well polished game with an interesting story. Good job!
Good Game !
It's massive for the gamejam !
Even for 176 hours of work its really impressive almost like a complete demo
Good Job!
WOAH, THIS IS A MASSIVE JAM GAME! 🏠⚔️🌊🔥
I really like how the theme goes beyond simply “get back home.” Wick’s journey changes him, and the idea that home becomes the friends he made along the way is such a great payoff. The amount of content, story, visuals, effects, combat, crafting, and exploration packed into 176 hours is seriously impressive.
I’d say the biggest improvement would be making progression a little easier to follow, especially when searching for specific crafting materials. A small hint or clearer item location description could keep the exploration fun without leaving players stuck. The camera could also feel smoother with some easing.
REALLY IMPRESSIVE AND AMBITIOUS JAM ENTRY! 🔥🏠⚔️ GOOD LUCK WITH THE JAM! 🎮✨
The scale of this project is impressive! 176 hours in 10 days is incredible. Did you even sleep or eat during that time?)) Amazing work!
Haha, I did sleep, but stayed WAY past midnight. Definitely ruined my sleep schedule! Thanks for playing!!
simply absurdly good, I still cant understand how did you made such a huge and clean game in such a small time window, did you have an rpg template ready? anyways, very likely a winner
I couldnt even finish the game while I was on the stream, since it was that long, but I'll definitely finish it later
well done
Nope, no templates or anything pre-created used. I guess experience, vision, and passion lol. This was created entirely from the ground up. Thanks for playing!!

This is a really impressive game for a jam. There is A LOT here and visually it looks great. I also found the cat and yeah thats automatically a good addition for me 😂
The main problem I had was getting lost with the progression. I reached the early part where I needed to make the sword and needed fibers but I had no idea where to get them. I talked to the NPCs and checked the signs but still couldnt figure out where I was supposed to go.
I think a small hint system would help a lot here. Maybe if the player stays on the same objective for a while the game could say something like where that material can be found. Even putting a tiny source description inside the crafting menu would work. Like "Fiber - found near X area". That way you still have to explore but you dont end up walking around completely lost.
The camera could also feel a bit smoother. Some easing when it moves would make travelling around feel nicer.
Still though this is a really big and polished entry. The visuals especially are VERY good and there are a lot of systems here for such a short jam.
If you have some time please check out my game too! Id really appreciate a rating and some honest feedback :)
An incredibly jam packed entry, with by far and away the most complete experience out there, but is that experience good?
Gameplay wise, this was the weakest aspect of the game, and is easily what drags this down. I find the gathering mechanics to be just generally tedious and not fun. The combat mechanics were fairly simple, and relatively slow. All the encounters I had done were pretty easy to defeat. The roll mechanic felt pretty underwhelming as it didn't move me in the given direction quickly enough for it to feel very satisfying. The core of the combat has proven to be effective as seen in other games, but as it stands here it is just far to simple, and also far too slow, which paired together makes it feel lackluster, and the other gameplay aspects are underwhelming to say the least.
On the contrary, the visuals are near perfect! In plain English, Very beautiful pixel art and particle effects. There were some notable bugs in the visuals, namely the stair sprites missing textures, the players equipped item looking pretty bad in their hand, and the boat visuals being cropped off at points. But overall still amazing, and those are still minor.
The audio and music was very good! I thought there was a lot of very small and subtle sound effects that added a lot to the atmosphere, combined with good music choices, made the game very enjoyable to listen to!
The theme interpretation was also great! I wasn't really too attached/immersed into the story, but I still liked how it linked into the theme, and thought it was a nice improvement on the basic "Get to X" format a lot the jam games have used.
Overall, very ambitious, and solid execution on almost all except arguably the most important aspect being gameplay. Make that more engaging, and you have yourself a game that could be released on steam!
Wow…what a complete experience!
This is really well put together, runs well, and is a very complete package for just a game jam. The visuals are great, and the audio brings it to life well.
There are a few minor issues here and there. Mostly being able to see terrain changes on the map due to the fixed camera angle, and some of the markers at the edge of the screen are jittery as they move around the edge instead of being smooth.
Overall, this is a really impressive entry!
Yeah, there's a few couple issues and overall things I still wanted to polish and smoothen out but I ran out of time. Thank you for playing!
Cute little game with many features for such a short time.
The camera movement is a bit jarring and could use some tweening.
Overall good entry, you can be happy with it!
Thanks. I did want to improve the camera movement but I ran out of time; I focused more on the story and fights.
