Nice game ! the control were good and love the simple art and music .
My only thing its no checkpoint.
Nice work !
Good game, great platformer.
the 2d pixel art look pretty good, but some times is hard recognize the platforms, use a diferent color for the background image, play with contrast to make it easier to see the platformers, the questions are good too. amazing concept, good job.
BRO, THIS FEELS LIKE A CRUSADER’S VERY IMPORTANT DINNER QUEST! 😂⚔️🍽️
I really like the charming pixel art and the whimsical music they give the whole journey a fun personality. The little riddle at the bridge was also a great touch, and that ending question was surprisingly memorable! The homemade art and audio make the game feel really cohesive.
I think the biggest improvement would be making the platforming a little more forgiving. Better visibility for landing spots, a smoother camera, and checkpoints would make the journey much less frustrating. Adding small jump/attack sound effects would also give the movement more impact.
A FUN LITTLE PLATFORMER WITH LOTS OF PERSONALITY! ⚔️🍽️🔥 GOOD LUCK WITH THE JAM! 🎮✨
Cute art! I like the concept. I got very frustrated going back to the beginning though, especially with the fixed jump height and blind drop after the moving platform.
Fitting music for a nice jaunt, I really liked the jump animation.
Cool. Despite being simple, the art portrays a rich landscape and the riddle at the bridge was pretty clever. (Fun fact you may already know: in reality neither the fruit nor color came first - orange was the name of the fruit tree itself and eventually the name transferred to the fruit.)
For some reason it took me several dozen times to reach the bridge without falling or hitting enemies despite the straightforward mechanics, though I can't tell how much was the game being hard and how much was me. I would suggest getting rid of the enemy directly under the second floating platform, though. You can't see it from that high, so I couldn't avoid falling on it.
My final suggestion is to add a jump sound effect. That was what I was told when I made my first platformer and it really improves the game. That and an attack sound effect when you hit the enemy.
Cute little platformer, I liked the art!
The jump could use some work, look into camera tweening, coyote time and controllable jump height. Those are the three mechanics that can turn a stiff jump into a good feeling one.
I liked the goblin guy at the end! Good work!
Gameplay / Fun / Engagement: ⭐⭐⭐

Pretty fun platformer but there are a few things that made it harder than it needed to be.
First thing I noticed was the grass platforms. Some of them blend into the background WAY too much. I would give them a darker outline or change the color a bit so you can instantly tell whats actually a platform.
Some jumps were also kinda frustrating because I couldnt see where I was supposed to land. A few times I basically jumped and hoped there was something below 😭 I even landed next to an enemy because I couldnt see the platform. Moving the camera slightly ahead/down depending on where the player is going could fix this pretty easily.
The enemies could use more feedback too. There wasnt really a satisfying sound when I defeated one and Id also add some walking animations for the player. Small things like that would make the game feel much more alive.
Music was good but the water sound felt a little strange because I couldnt really see any water moving around me. If you want to keep that sound Id add an actual flowing water so like little river or waterfall in the background but the flowing should be visable. Then it would make much more sense and also make the environment look nicer.
Still a nice game and I think the base platforming works. Mostly it just needs better readability and a bit more feedback/polish.
And if you guys have some free time please check out my game too! Id really appreciate ratings and some feedback from all of you :)
Simple platformer, it would be way better if it had checkpoints. The last question was interesting hahah
I liked the question at the end and I wish you added more! Overall a basic platformer (I would change the camera to make it more smooth and let player see where he jumps).
Also nice music!
I really like the art and music on this. Gameplay is fun too but could use a bit of polish. Overall good game and also taught me something about oranges.
Fun traditional 2D platformer. The movement and collisions feel really tight, which made the actual platforming enjoyable.
I also liked the music a lot. Very whimsical and brass-heavy. It honestly gave me a bit of a Monty Python adventure vibe.
My biggest issue was readability. Some of the green moving platforms blend into the green hills/cliffs in the background, so a stronger outline or more contrast would help a lot. I also ran into a few blind jumps where the camera didn’t let me see the lower landing before committing.
Solid foundation overall. The controls feel good; I think a little more visual clarity and camera help would make it much easier to read and play.
