AWWW, THIS IS SUCH A CUTE WAY TO INTERPRET “THE LONG WAY HOME”! 🥹🏠❤️

The idea of the girl deliberately making the walk home longer because she doesn’t want the evening to end is absolutely adorable. It turns the theme into something romantic and playful instead of just being about distance, and the hand-drawn notebook style fits that feeling beautifully. The puzzle gameplay also matches the concept really naturally, making the whole experience feel cohesive.

I’d love to see a few more route complications in a bigger version things like traffic lights, events, or other little reasons to take a detour could make the planning even more interesting. The arrow selection could also be smoother with keyboard shortcuts, since constantly moving between the map and the buttons can interrupt the puzzle flow.

REALLY SWEET AND CREATIVE JAM ENTRY! 💕🗺️🎨 GOOD LUCK WITH THE JAM! 🎮✨

Cute!

Gameplay was pretty good! This type of puzzle is fairly common, but that just means it was easy to pickup and very easy to understand. I liked the sort of timed element of it, where you have to rush to place the path as quick as possible, before the couple catch up. The main critique I can give is that switching between different types of arrows and then placing them is a bit tedious and annoying. Maybe adding hotkeys like 1,2,3 to easily select/choose the different arrows would make it easier.

Visually the game was super cute, easily the highlight along with the theme! The sketchbook/hand drawn style is super cute, combined with the girl model which is well done, if even the animation is a bit simple.

Audio is the main weakness, as there is basically no sound effects, and the music is just decent. I think simply get started with sound effects, and most of the problem is solved.

Theme is amazing like I said before, and was executed great. No complaints.

Overall very cute puzzle game, and great entry!

Great concept and execution! What i liked most was how the theme, gameplay and art fit so well with each other and gave a tight well rounded experience! I loved the hand drawn map, symbols and tiny characters. The grid was also done very organically as part of a paper - looked great! Although all of the elements were hand drawn, it was very easy to distinguish each one and it did not interfere in the gameplay at all. One thing i would change is the image on the left which felt a bit inconsistent with the rest of the art and the UI slider for the speed.

The gameplay itself was engaging and i liked that you kept a star based system and not simply win/ lose. Overall great job, would love to see this as a full fledged game :)

This is a fun little puzzle game.

Everything is done very well and the presentation is really solid. Maybe I never quite grasped the mechanics well, but one thing I wished is that I knew what my next set of arrow options would be. I felt like I never had a good idea of what to plan for.

Solid game overall!

This is one of my favourite interpretations of the theme that I've seen. It's very original and makes for a really interesting puzzle game! I also love the whole hand drawn on paper art style. Everything about this is very unique in the best possible ways :D

Gameplay / Fun / Engagement: ⭐⭐⭐

 Art Style / Visuals: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Audio / Sound Design: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

 Theme: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is a really cute idea and the reason for taking the longest route works perfectly with the theme  The notebook look is also REALLY nice. Art is an easy 5/5 for me.

My biggest issue is the actual puzzle controls. Having to move my mouse to the corner to pick a direction and then move it back to the map every single time gets annoying pretty quickly. Id add keyboard binds like 1 2 3 for the directions or maybe Q W E. Right click to undo would be useful too. I think the less time the player spends fighting the UI the more they can actually think about the route.

Gameplay is a 3/5 for me mostly because the puzzles felt a bit too easy. Usually I could look at the streets and see the longest route pretty quickly. Id add more things that change how much time a road actually takes. Maybe construction makes one street slower. Traffic lights could force you to wait. Maybe stopping somewhere for a little event gives extra time. Then the visually longest route wouldnt always be the correct answer.

You could also give limited turns on later levels. Like only 2 left turns or 3 straight moves. That would make planning much more important without changing the main mechanic.

Audio is 4/5. I liked the music and how chill the whole thing feels. Theme is definitely 5/5.

Really nice concept and presentation. I think better controls and harder route decisions would improve it A LOT.

And since theres two of you if you both have some time please check out my game too :) Id really appreciate a rating and some feedback from both of you!

Ok... so this one lands in the category of "games that make me want to kiss my wife".

I loved this one. The atmosphere of cute youthfulness is just great. The notebook doodle styled graphics fit this in a really amazing way. Your game gave me warm feelings in my heart and that's something really few can do. I'd really want to play more of this. Maybe with even more "complications" (like the traffic lights). If you think of spinning this into a bigger game- you should!

Returning to the graphics- Is... is every street drawn by hand? I looks like every building and plant is slightly different! Really great!

Your take on theme is really original too. I didn't think of a take where the way home is long, because you WANT it to be long, but for cute reasons :)

Only nitpick- moving the mouse there and back again was ok for a jam game, but would be exhausting in a longer game. Keyboard shortcuts would be cool!

Over all- definitely one of may favorites in this jam. Keep it up!

Beautiful art design, and it’s a really well-made puzzle game. My only feedback would be to take another look at the sound/music design, because I found it a little frustrating at times. Other than that, great work! Feel free to check out my game too :)))))

A very creative way to approach the game jam theme, the art is really beautiful. I loved how everything is drawn on a sheet of paper and how it corrects you when you make a mistake.

We’d love for you to try our game and give us some feedback. Thanks <3

Nice Game ! love the puzzle and the fact that you need to walk slower its a great way for the theme.

Good Work !

I like puzzle games, and I loved this. I would play a fully fleshed out version with more levels and mechanics, if you can think of them! The theme of trying to take as long as you can walking home with the person you like is very cute.

Traffic lights are a great obstacle, and trying to time it right so you land on them when the light is red feels very satisfying.

One gripe with the controls - it felt annoying having to move my mouse back and forth to select the directional buttons - a button to cycle through them would have been nice, though it might affect the challenge of the game.

I assume you had a list of possible other ideas to implement but I'll throw the one that spring to my mind - a patrolling street dog/cat? You'd obviously want to stop and pet him to waste more time, haha. The challenge would be timing your walk to merge with the creature, who is constantly moving.

Overall, really good work!

interesting game, and good use of the theme. A bit repetitive
