BUG: Latest Update Broke Widget Parsing

A topic by Ludonauta created 12 days ago Views: 411 Replies: 3

Hello,

Previously, we could just copy + paste our widgets' snippet here on itch.io, for instance in our devlogs, profile page, and project's page, and the text editor would automatically parse them into the actual widget.

Now, when copy+pasting, it paste the raw code snippet and we have to jump into the HTML editor, paste it there.

I noticed that this happened after the addition of the "Collapsible section" tool to the WYSIWYG editor...which...funnily enough breaks the concept of a What You See Is What You Get content editor.

Which browser/version are you using, and could you share one widget snippet that no longer converts when pasted? That would help narrow down the change.

Sure, I'm on Brave version 1.96.61.

All my widgets are broken, so you can try out this one:

Thanks for the report, this is indeed a functionality change from the recent update to the rich text editor. In the meantime, there should be an “Insert video” button in the toolbar you can use to add an embed iframe without having to change to HTML mode

Edit: The old functionality is back, you can now paste iframe code to have it convert immediately
