Hello! I don't know exactly what frametop could be doing that could impact other applications, but that you have nix installed shouldn't be an issue, I do too.

Could you try the latest released version and tell me if this issue still happens?

Thank you! I just installed the newest build and I threw claude at it and found two issues that prevented my install from working and found a workaround for both and it's AMAZING!!

1. install.py failed with KeyError: 'Shortcuts' -- the shortcut gets created but the artwork step crashes. artwork.py (shortcuts(), line 87) looks up the root key "Shortcuts" but my shortcuts.vdf has it in lowercase ("shortcuts"). Making the lookup case-insensitive fixed it:

root = {key.lower(): value for key, value in object().items()}

return root["shortcuts"].values()

2. Launch hangs forever after the "Next up" screen: MatineeVR connects to SteamVR, then busy-loops at 100% CPU on one thread during Vulkan startup.  It never loads the bundled Turnip driver or opens /dev/dri.  The cause is Valve's implicit OpenXR Layer XR_APILAYER_VALUE_fdm_injection.  It reproduces off-headset with "matineevr --render-prodbe --seconds 1 clip.mp4" even with a clean environment.  With DISABLE_VULKAN_FDM_INJECTION_LAYER=1 the probe runs fine (Turnip Adreno 750, 60 frames in about 0.1s).  I added this line to launch.sh just before the final exec:

export DISABLE_VULKAN_FDM_INJECTION_LAYER=1
