How does your game tie into the "Salvage" theme
What could you salvage beyond goods, valuables, or objects? How could you salvage a deceased person? Value it's soul, it's memories?

We used different concepts of Salvage as inspiration for our game: as turning a disaster or bad situation into something manageable or partially successful. As rescuing people from a shipwreck. And gathering goods and turning them into something with new value.

Thank you for creating this game!

I really enjoyed the overall atmosphere, the texture art, and the unique sound design. The mechanic involving finding souls to gain abilities is also quite interesting.

However, I frequently got stuck on textures, which also made it difficult to reach some of the houses.

Additionally, I think it would be a great idea to add a mini-map and labels for the houses (showing the residents' names).

This game has a really nice feel to it. I did get a little hung up when running behind the houses. The transparency effect when running behind a house worked pretty well, though.

I especially liked guarding the Church door at the finale. I would happily play the sequel to this game.

Nicely done!

Holy ****, this is incredible—I got completely hooked! The art style is gorgeous (animations, menus, UI, everything) and creates a really great atmosphere.

There are just a couple of small things I noticed:

  • I think the character needs an idle animation when standing still.
  • Barrels and other small objects seem to have massive colliders (or maybe it's a bug?), because they sometimes block you from walking past them.
  • I got an upgrade with a ~30% chance to one-shot enemies, and it feels pretty overpowered. I got super lucky and defeated about 10 enemies in a row with single hits, which was insane haha.

Other than that, I really enjoyed the experience. I got strong The Witcher vibes, and I love the RPG loop of looting items, talking to NPCs, fighting enemies, and upgrading gear. Fantastic work!

Excellent game, great visual effects, a very creative take on the jam theme, and fantastic atmosphere! There are just a couple of minor things I'd like to point out in case you decide to keep working on the game. I'd love to see an idle animation for the character when standing still, and there seem to be some collision issues around the barrels. Overall, you've made a really strong project!

Amazing game! The gameplay is really close to perfect! I loved the character upgrades, interesting dialogues and quests. The controls are simple and intuitive, and the whole gameplay loop feels really satisfying.

The graphics and music are absolutely fantastic, nothing to complain about here! The connection to the salvage theme is also excellent, not just through the story but through the actual gameplay mechanics too.

The level of polish is really impressive! I especially liked the smooth menu transitions, the effects when enemies die, and the overall darkness effect, which creates a great atmosphere.

Just a few small things I'd consider improving:

  • The collisions on some static objects, like barrels, seem a bit too large. Sometimes you can't walk through gaps where it looks like your character should easily fit.
  • It would be nice if enemies became partially visible when hidden behind obstacles like roofs, similar to how it already works for the player.
  • The "Quit Game" button could probably be removed from the WebGL version ;)

Overall, an excellent and incredibly polished game with a really engaging gameplay loop. Easily one of the best entries I've played in this jam! It's honestly impressive what you've managed to create in just 3 days. Great work!

I really like this idea, and I fully believe this could be made into a full (if not small) indie title. I really think the mechanic for using souls is great, and I can see the effort put into it, especially in things like the UI design and Story.
