The art style is beautiful, the SFX were effective, and the gameplay and level design achieve the perfect balance of difficulty across all three levels. As a composer, I felt that the music was too simple and too serious for the cute, lofi aesthetic. If you want to keep that "struggle for survival" feeling in the music, it is still possible to do that while also incorporating sounds that convey snow, nature, or retro more clearly, while also enhancing player's enjoyment overall. Otherwise, great work, team!

Thank you for playing, we're so glad you enjoyed it. The sound design in general is definitely something that could be improved with more time and work as well all elements of the project, your feedback here is super useful. Thanks again for the kind words and congrats on your own submission, it looks, plays and sounds great!
Loved the art for the main character, so cute :3 Also nice screen shake on the wood chopping! Made the gameplay feel extra satisfying. Nice work!
Cute character, like the Ice Climbers but somehow cuter! Nice mood setting between the desolate music and wind VFX+SFX.
Solid interpretation of the limitation. I like the gameplay loop, but there are a couple small things that I'm not sure enhance it. One is getting snagged on colliders, I think from tree stumps after they got chopped. The other was I felt like sometimes the hypothermia telegraphing wasn't in sync with the player health, and I would instantly die after I'd been by the cart for a while, but it's possible I misunderstood.
Pretty cool that you got Unreal running in the browser. Nice job overall and it's always nice to see teamwork chemistry.
Thank you for your kind words and for playing our entry! The suggestions with collision and temperature clarity are both things we agree need some tweaking, thank you for pointing these out.
Glad you noticed UE thing, we worked in an old version of the engine to allow this to work, web build are far more accessible for jams and we’re glad you enjoyed it! 😄
I loved the art style and and overall great vibes - cute graphics paired with unforgiving cold! The death screen just saying "Hypothermia" is hilarious. Nicely done, team!
Thank you so much for playing Sengul and for the kind words! They are all quite different once you get moving along the track, they also get progressively harder. Definitely see if you can do it (the trick is to run ahead a little bit and to fuel the fire little and often so you can stay warm). Congrats again on your own entry, you all did a great job!
Overall, I think this is a pretty good game! While the developers seem to have chosen not to emphasize the optional autumn theme, they more than made up for it with their implementation of the "Stay Warm" restriction.
I'd also like to highlight the fact that this was a five-person team project. That kind of coordination deserves respect! I don't know how things worked behind the scenes, but I wouldn't be surprised if this wasn't their first project together. Please don't take that as criticism - quite the opposite! It's genuinely encouraging to see how experience can help people achieve something more ambitious. At the very least, it's clear that the people involved weren't completely new to their tools or to releasing games.
Here are a few things I'd like to point out:
- As Goose Loop mentioned, and as I experienced myself to some extent, the game sometimes refuses to launch or has trouble starting properly. This could be an issue with the hosting website, the game itself, or certain devices. More playtesting would help identify the cause and make the experience more reliable.
- As another commenter pointed out, the menu lowered my initial expectations a little. Perhaps that was intentional, but it might be worth giving the game's presentation a little more attention in future projects.
- Unless I missed it, the game doesn't seem to have a settings menu. I would have really appreciated at least an option to adjust the sound volume without having to change my system's overall volume. Maybe this feature was deliberately left out due to time constraints, or perhaps it simply didn't make the cut.
That said, the game itself is charming, atmospheric, and enjoyable. The sound effects, 3D models, and underlying systems deserve special recognition - great work from the programmers, sound designers, and 3D artists alike!
The level design also stands out. It's immediately apparent that the team put considerable effort into the levels and gave them proper attention. The polish, sound effects, and overall game feel are the icing on the cake.
Everyone did a great job, and you can really see how much each person contributed to the final result. Well done, everyone! ❤️👏
Thank you so much for your lengthy review going into great depth with your experience playing out submission!
I personally have known the other devs of this game for years but this is actually our first time all working together as a team of 5.
It’s disappointing to hear you had issues with booting the game, it’s something we’ll have to look into. We used an old version of Unreal Engine to build this as modern versions don’t support HTML5 builds so perhaps that causes issues for some people booting it up.
The text on the menus scale can appear strangely sized when in the smaller box size, this is something we were aware of but simply didn’t have time to resolve before submission unfortunately, the same is the case with any settings / pause menus, it’s something we’d like to add in a future build!
Thank you again for the kind words and in depth feedback, we really appreciate it 😁
Artsyle seems nice, but I won’t be able to play the game, seems like my keyboard keys are ignored by the game. Mouse works.
Launched in brave on mac os.
This was really good, unforgiving at times but really good! I really love the music and the art style too
Love the art direction and style, and the use of the limitation is perfect!
I do also think it's funny how you can win right after dying of hypothermia
However, the geometry of the game causes some annoying scenarios to happen though, especially with how slow you move in the game, got stuck on stumps more often than I'd like to admit
Very nice work. Seems like you have a great team! The art looks great and the light of the fire is very realistic. Also the movement feels very smooth.
The intro and the menu set the expectations lowers but once you enter the game everything changes.
Great look & feel. Congrats!
Great game man, its funny how the human just falls down when getting hypothermia lmao, its like ragdolling immediately. I really like that you need to be real fast when collecting the wood to keep the fire.
