Many thanks to the developers—they’ve significantly improved performance, and the game is now much more comfortable to play!

Fun idea: a witch's party on a grave, and you find the uninvited guests by their clothes. The music is cool, and some costumes made me laugh (the road cone hat!) 🎃

Honest feedback: for me it was too hard. The timer is very short for so many guests, and the game froze often in my browser. More time on the first levels and better performance would make it much more fun.

Good luck with the jam!

Thanks for playing and leaving your honest feedback. We're looking forward to improving our game after the jam and will keep your experience in mind!

Yes, thanks for playing! FWIW we've updated the game to address the lag issues, so it should run much more smoothly now.

Black Two GamesSubmitted8 hours ago

Yes, it’s definitely become smoother.

Thanks a lot for the optimization and for paying attention to feedback—I think this will have a positive impact on the game’s rating.

I had to move towards the forest to reduce the lag. Idea is nice, searching is sometimes quite difficult. But I like it. Well done.

Pretty decent, however the performance on Web really lets it down, I either have to only use Zoom or resort to orbiting the edge and looking outward to see as few people as possible.

You'll def want to look into LODs so simplify the meshes of the characters at a distance, of course with this being a game of trying to spot the "uninvited" this might be a challange, the other option is to break up line of sight so not all the characters are visible at any one time, but are in distinct areas so you don't lose your place of where you've searched.

Also I found the use of "Wrong" and ✅ confusing, I initially thought I had found them (the check) and perhaps "wrong" was like something to do with them being uninvited...I only later realised on losing tha they were marked as "been guessed" so perhaps different iconography could work better.

Damnit Greg!: Jam Edition

Thanks for checking our game out and leaving such detailed suggestions on how to improve the lag. It was our first time creating a 3D game on our own and although we did implement some optimization things, clearly there is still room for improvement.

The performance is SOOOO much better, well done, I noticed you paused the animation of characters far away unless you zoom in on them; very clever solution.

I did notice one small thing which I just have to share, some of the graves have no space infront of them for a casket 😄 but as I say, small thing.

Fantastic work, well done on the fix.

Is That The Dictionary?

MakaroseDeveloper2 days ago

Thanks for playing and glad you liked the music. If you have a moment could you let us know what browser and set up you were using so we can try to address lagging issues?

SpeedoSubmitted2 days ago

Sure!
Chrome.
I tried reloading it and playing it again, it seems when there are huge number of models in the viewport it lags when moving and sometimes when you stay still. I suggest to see the models and maybe reduce its vertices (I am not an expert but i think this is the issue), and I did not see any spikes on my gpu/cpu/RAM when the game lagges.
hope this help, and best of luck

Excellent game. Graphics were superior. Game play was flawless. Design was excellent.

One thing, the clues can fit several of the guests sometimes, 'Wearing black socks' there were several guests wearing black socks.

Anyway, the game was great fun, thanks

Yes you might find some "red herring" guests out there. That's part of the challenge. Only one character will fit all three clues. Thanks for playing and we appreciate your feedback!

ObzibobziSubmitted3 days ago

Fun Game loved the different characters and loved the concept. Literally I liked the game and its replayability my only issue would be the lag spikes id get looking at the crowd I was lagging way too much. But it was fun.

Oh sorry I must’ve missed the first reply I was using normal chrome and ill have another go now that the lag is fixed because I was actually enjoying the game.

I love the music so much. It really sets the tone as soon as you open the game. Good job on the intro the tutorial fit into the intro really smoothly. I was a little confused at the guessing. When I guessed wrong I'd get a green checkmark which usually means correct, but a big word saying wrong! The messaging was a bit mixed

Thanks for playing and leaving your feedback. I agree the check mark is confusing. I had meant to put an invitation icon above their heads but, ran out of time before I could circle back.
