First off, I love the vibe of the game. I can tell the maker is creative from the first few seconds. The bad grammar actually caught my attention. Some confusing elements:
The first incoming message is greyed out and unclickable.
I am pretty good at games, and usually don't fail this much but it took me at least 5 tries to get to the end. Is there only one level? I wasn't sure if I was restarting or if it was different the second time.
All in all it's light hearted and the action is real. I enjoyed it.
Thank you for this. Yours is the first read I've gotten from someone who found the game on their own, and it landed harder than the numbers ever do. The greyed-out one is on purpose: the very first interruption is scripted to land, so the first thing you feel is what a landing costs, before you've earned the right to stop one. The thing I actually want to know is whether that read as teaching (that's what it's for) or as cheating (that's my real fear). Fair note on the five tries. It's one level, the same room every run, but the room gets denser in the last third, so a second attempt is being asked more than the first, which is probably what felt different rather than a new level. And the grammar: are you seeing a real typo somewhere, or the interruptions talking in fragments on purpose? If there's a typo I want it gone tonight. Either way, thank you for the tries.
I think the game is hard enough that people will learn naturally the cost of missing a word. Especially new players who are getting their bearings. It almost taught me that the clicking doesn't work. I think the text saying that you should click them and the screen visuals show clearly enough that it's bad to miss the interruptions.
I just mean the capitalization and punctuation. Grammar was the wrong word.
Both answers landed, and the first one is the thing I was most afraid of. A player deciding, two seconds in, that clicking doesn't work is worse than any missed word. I put that first landing there to show the cost of a miss before you can do anything about it, but greyed-out and unclickable doesn't read as out of reach, it reads as broken. So the next build either drops it or marks it clearly as unreachable (dashed, no click target) so it can't be mistaken for a dead button. That's on me and it's going in.
Grammar: understood, capitals and punctuation, not a typo. The fragments are on purpose, but I'd rather you told me than not. Thanks for coming back with it.
