shadow!!!1 this is such a cool concept and it's so well executed and so novel; truly exquisite. and i actually felt like there was a good amount of content and the stories kept getting more and more compelling, like your pacing was rly rly good. probably my favorite concept submitted and it rly feels very polished, so wow so so good.

Concept: I was not expecting an idea that wasn't even originally for this theme work this well with it, but it's great.

Gameplay: it's super engaging, I really liked piecing together the stories of each ghost while trying to tell their intentions. I felt like some conclusion like a game over or bad ending if you let bad things happen was missing, though I can imagine it was planned but couldn't fit in the timeframe.

Art: amazing aesthetic, I love the fake OS style, it's always so immersive and spooky. Also very polished stuff, everything fits together perfectly.

Audio: as with art, super polished stuff, fits the vibes really well.

Very impressive stuff overall, you always nail the spooky vibes these jams. I also think this genuinely could be developed further to a full fledged indie horror game, the potential is absolutely there. Amazing stuff, nicely done!

it's really stylish!

I don't Really Like Story Games... BUT This is goated just for the vibes and polish! i don't really have much to say since i usually focus more on game design than anything else but it's cool

Developer

Yeah, it's definitely not a game for everyone, but glad you liked some part of it :)

I love the os aesthetics !! The narrative side is cool with the branching and all, i really liked to follow the story of your character and i fell in your traps....

The music was good too, maybe it lacks a bit of feedbacks but it's a great game !!

This is the spookiest one we have played so far! AH!

Developer

This is my goal every year lol. Thanks for playing!

Very, very spooky. I was hooked and tense through the whole game. The storytelling is simple yet on point, the attachments are a very nice touch. I only kept answering every time to see how things would play out, so didn't really make any decisions, but the development for each of the stories does manage to draw the player in as a character of their own. The entire experience felt like an intense creepy pasta.

Well done !!

Incredible! I definitely got chills while I was playing and got immediately invested. I get the sense that there might not be pass/fail criteria, but I didn't really care. The UI and the writing are next level. Great work!

Really simple game, a lot of reading. I don’t know if what I did was correct. It was really chilling. Amazing story and writing. Just, fantastic stuff here

Very impressive stuff, as always! Super stylish and well-made. I feel like it could have been a little more "eventful", but it was still interesting and immersive. Thanks for jamming with us again :)

Developer

Thanks! I agree, it could be a little more intersting, but I just wanted to try something new and really wanted that email...

This was a great experience, and I love that you incorporated email into your game for the hell of it lmao. The first playthrough I just found myself accepting every email that came in, and I realized towards the end how that affected things. I love that you made this in a way that encourages multiple playthoughs to see what happens depending on your actions. Definitely a standout title of the jam!

Developer(+1)

Yeah, wanted to do something different this time. Glad you enjoyed it! :))

That was an absolutely amazing experience, I went through it a few times trying out different options just to see the differing outcome for these little contained stories. Really cool overall

Developer

Thanks! I wish there was more paths you can take with your choices but at least there is some ending variation

This game was an amazing game!

I really like this idea - so creative and very immersive! This is like the spooky operating system I wish we had": "AfterLife OS". I wasn't entirely sure what I was doing though. The text in the emails was a bit much to read. I wonder if the emails could be much more brief and give instant feedback when you categorize it like "Good" or "Bad" or just show a score increase/penalty if you picked the right option (actually, maybe an "afterlife" progress bar could be your life or something and it adjusts each time you categorize an email). I'd definitely play this more  if you complete the game and publish! Great job!

Developer

At first I've made it so it's more of a recognise which ghost is good which bad game and choose, an at the end you would see your score, but then I changed it into narrative branches where your choices can either progress the story, end it, or branch out, all leading to different ending text. I wish there was more to it, more complex email chains, with many different paths you can take it, but of course there was no time for that.
