Hey great job on getting an entry into the jam! This was creative and the art style was creative. The controls were unintuitive because the "jump" made it feel like the frog was going to go the opposite direction when going up. Maybe working on the animation would make the game feel a lot better.

Hey, you have quite the atmospheric experience here:D, good job! If I were to point something out, looking at what has already been said, it was a bit weird how the frog moves downwards when jumping, looking at all the other sprites. For example the lighthouse is laid on its side in the scene, it makes me think that height is upwards, but the frog denies that fact. It kind of makes the ideas clash and breaks immersion. I see potential here, hope to see you in another jam:)

I enjoyed the unique movement, and the thunder strike accompanied with the light out was a very nice touch, and added cool atmosphere your game! I feel like you could've made the goal more engaging by designing your map based on your movement!

Good job!

LEGAL! eu também não intendi direito o que estava fazendo, depois intendi o objetivo. Mas eu gostei! avalie meu jogo por favor! /jam/godot-wild-jam-98/rate/5175533

I had very little idea of what was going on but, I really like the game?? I honestly, sincerely love the visuals. They’re simple in a very refreshing way. And the lightning flashes, combined with the sounds, actually create a pretty nice mood. Keep it up!

The concept isn't bad but the game needs state management of any kind. You can interrupt any action with any other action, including dying. So if you mash enough you can always win even with negative stamina

I will keep in mind.Thank you ☺️

I liked the ms paint artstyle... a minimum range to the shore would have helped, my first try I spawned at the shore and didn't get why I won instantly 😅

Developer

I am gonna fix the frog spawning first before anything after the jam ends.

The game is pretty cool however I find it very easy. I spawned right next to the shore multiple times. I appreciate that you used all of the wildcards tho! Simple but fun.

Nice little game! The audio is great, and so are the sprites. My only small suggestion would be to add a black outline to the frog's legs as well, but that's just a nitpick. It's a nice interpretation of the theme and the wildcards. However, the game can sometimes feel a bit too easy, as you can spawn pretty close to the shore. Overall, good job!

Thanks for the review ☺️

Quite an interesting idea but it's a bit too easy I think, and it was a weak interpretation of the signal idea.
Theme: 2/5 (I didn't need the lighthouse to win, just roaming around aimlessly until you find shore works.)
Fun: 3/5 (Again, you had way too much energy to even need to eat fish. You were way too close to shore. )
Controls: 3/5 (The frog jumping is so weird, and why does it hop so slowly? Overall kinda annoying to move.)
Graphics: 4/5 (The artwork is great but the UI seems to be placeholder that never got replaced)
Audio: 5/5 (Peak.)
Accessibility: 3/5 (The frog jumping could be a bit weird for some, and I can't rebind my controls to WASD)
Originality: 3/5 (Getting to shore itself is quite common, but the extra flairs you add do help)

Developer

I felt like the lightning would increase the difficulty. And the Whirlpools would make the need for fishes. Now I feel like that's not the case and the frog should have been spawned further. Anyways thanks for reviewing ☺️.
