I am confused...
I uploadet this game called go to bed bat and in the anlutics i can see from whare people got the link to ma game and one of the links linked me to itch.io hotfix... Why?

(1 edit)

Okay I uploadet a game to itch.io and some of the Incoming visits from other sites over the past 30 days are sus like this one: android-app://com.google.android.gm/ wich bringd me to an white screen and this one: /embed-hotlink/19061341 wich brings me to this website:

I am super scarred now because it says "Your game got stolen (Maybe)"

How should I react to this?

PLS Help!

People normally load my game from a QR code on real life objects. The QR code contains arguments to the game to tell it what puzzle to load. Recently I started getting this "You should be using itch.io" error.

I want to be able to pass in arguments to my game in the URL about what kind of puzzle it should be loading. Is there a way to do this with the embed link?

I see the embed link is /embed-upload/12591304?color=333333

The link I have been using in the past is more like https://html-classic.itch.zone/html/12591304/Slicer/index.html?x=eF4rySzJSbUNKS3...

This error tells me I'm not supposed to link to that domain, but is there any way to pass these arguments through the embed link?

The warning only shows up if the link is embedding in another platforms iframe. Perhaps the method people are using to load your QR code is wrapping the game URL in something else?

Is there any hope of indexing the game NSFW "The Kid The at back"  for 2026 If you can please

Thanks for the response; after some debugging it only happens if the link is from a Google Form so they are probably doing some weird embedding or something. So it looks like itch is not to blame here.

Hello, I’m looking to buy HTML5 games that have built-in in-app purchases; perhaps someone has a good option available? Please email me. nodar.kurtsikidze@lex-global.co

Hey

Check his article. It explains some options for buying HTML5 game licenses

This game was not stolen; I developed it. Please do not show any strange messages.

Can you share the public page URL where the warning appears, and say which browser and device you’re using? Are you opening the game on itch.io or embedding it on another site?

Hello,

I developed and use my game as an easter egg on my website that worked up until a little bit ago and the link takes me to this conversation. The game is https://madcougarproductions.itch.io/the-load-screen-escapes and I use it on our 404 page: https://www.theloadscreen.com/the-load-screen-404-page and as a standalone on this page too: https://www.theloadscreen.com/the-load-screen-escapes-game is there any way you can enable the in browser setup? I can try republishing the game but it would take a huge overhaul since it was made in an older version of Unity. It only seems to happen on Chrome browser, it works on Firefox and Edge without issue.

Thank you
