This definitely feels more like a proof of concept than a finished game, but there’s some good work here, especially if this was primarily an opportunity to learn Godot 3D and Blender.

The movement was smooth and responsive, and I liked the terrain, colors, and overall look of the environment. I also thought the little phone beeps blending into the background music were a nice touch.

The biggest issue for me was that I never really found a payoff to the signal mechanic. I walked around, raised the phone, and found areas with stronger/weaker readings, but even when I seemed to have a full signal I couldn’t tell that anything happened.

Once I realized there wasn’t much beyond searching for reception, my interest dropped pretty quickly.

I think there’s actually a fun little idea here if finding signal eventually creates more decisions or consequences. Different signal sources, places you have to reach, something responding to you, navigation challenges, etc.

As a first 3D/Blender experiment though, there are definitely some nice pieces here. The world and movement in particular feel like a solid foundation to keep building from.

Always cool to see what we learned in the jams! It's one of the most useful times to reeeally try something new, and see what works and what doesn't! Very cool aesthetic, loved the intense gradient and look :)

Nice and straightforward. I also intuitively jumped off the map at the end. Nice work!

The game is simple but good, very well made.

Developer

apreciate that!

Very interesting idea! I like the phone's look.

One of the plans our team had for a submission involved climbing a vertical tower to reach good signal for a phone call. I'm entrusting you with this idea because you reminded me of it :D

ty! yeah theres somthing about climbing to find a signal that felt like it would be a good feeling in a game

Nice! It's simple and I love the PS1 graphics vibe. I also got the urge to jump-off after finding the signal and I did lol. I would like to ask what the hardest part of making this game was. I've never tried making a 3d game myself, although I am definitely interested in doing so in the near future.

ty!
the hard parts about 3d for me:
*getting used to thinking in 3d, never knowing where things will end up on your 2d screen, relative to the camera, the player, perspectave.
*getting a workflow down between blender, krita, and godot
*not getting completely lost in blender and actually making a game!

Ay this is cool :) Short and sweet, and very good for 3d game jam project. Great job!

Very cute! Game jams aren’t suppose to be super complicated so I think you did a good job. Maybe add colliders so I am not tempted to jump off after I’ve claimed victory : )

Good work.

Developer

haha great idea ty, and im happy you beat it!
