Really impressive system design here, however I feel like objectives aren't really well established. I felt like over time from exploring the ui I was able to piece together what was going on. I would have appreciated a bit more of a tutorial but its a jam so understandable. However what I wasn't sure what I was trying to work towards, round endings came out of no where, and I was never really sure if I did well or not on any given round. Also found a couple bugs where I could over flow the hand by playing again when its mid scoring, and was able to get my available actions into the negative, leading to an endless round. Other than that the art style is really cool, the layering of the character sketches and the iconography of the UI is cool. Great work on this
Very cool idea, I really struggled to understand how to play even after reading the instructions on the game's page. I like the spooky music!
Really interesting concept that I think could be ironed out into a really neat solo card game. IDK if im just stupid, but I couldn't find a way to get any more food. I only drew the cult guys who didn't give any food and I used the food I did have for a request. I couldn't play any cards so I just kept collecting and getting nothing but money and eyeballs (which I couldn't use cause I didn't have food to play the cards I drew). Maybe if I had it explained to me I would have been like "ohhhhhhh" cause I'm a dumb smelly baby. With a UI overhaul and maybe some sort of tutorial I could see myself spending a LOOTTT of time on this one!
This seems like it's a good game but I was a bit overwhelmed trying to learn the mechanics all at once. I also couldn't tell why cycles were ending. I'm interested in taking more time to learn it
The sound and art are compelling (though some of the contrast on the art is pretty low, which can make things a bit difficult to discern), but I also couldn't figure out how the game works, even after reading through the itch page. This is what my play space looks like currently, I think I have accidentally broken something as I have -68 actions left. This also happened one cycle later on my next run

I think it would be helpful to have more explanation in-game, rather than on the itch page, but it also doesn't feel like the game is explained fully on that page. What is a Soul Fragment and how do I get it? I've started a Great Feast but still don't have that box checked. If I Collect with 0 cards in the upper left deck, cards still get played. Where are those coming from? Are they being shuffled from the other pile? It's not clear that one is my deck and the other is a discard. And if that's the case, where am I drawing cards from into my hand? Where do those cards come from?
The lanes also aren't immediately clear - there's the indicator on the left, but I can click on the Meat symbol while in the Coins lane and the dot will show it selected despite still being in the coins lane according to the rest of the visuals.
It's also awkward that I don't seem to be able to gain boons? hearts? from multiple lanes per cycle, even when I fulfill the requirements for them. Is there a way to choose which lane I get that for, or does it choose for me? It's also confusing that there are four gods, but three lanes, and none of the gods seem to be named directly anywhere, especially since we're warned that they can change lanes. I can have 2/3 favor with Gan'th, but I have no idea which of the four that is.
I can see some interesting resource management and prioritizations going on here, but right now it's pretty opaque, and that makes is really difficult to understand what my goals are as the player.
This is great feedback, thank you! I'm not the programmer on this, but I think I can speak to some of your points. I think there are some behaviors that are currently broken that we just ran out of time or didn't catch in the playtesting/bugfixing stage. So you may have done things correctly with an undesired result! The -68 actions is one I haven't seen before.
I don't think clicking the resource icon moves you to the lane currently, even though the UI behaves like it's a button. Skipping to a lane would be nice! The only way to change lanes at the moment is to use the up/down arrow keys on the keyboard or the up/down arrow buttons on the indicator on the left side.
The Soul Fragment gets revealed through regular progression, which you wouldn't get to if you're in this bugged negative actions state.
I think making the draw pile and discard pile for each lane clearer, even with a label would make things easier to parse.
The boons are specific to each god. While some are persistent, most follow the gods and apply the boon to the lane the god is on. I believe only one boons lets you pick a specific lane to apply the boon to, but we don't have anything that indicates that boon is applied. I think the UI in the bottom right with the boons acquired for a god can also name the god for those boons, which would also better communicate to the player who's who. It would also solidify the relationship between the physical form of the god on the main gameplay screen and the one that reveals itself to the player when selecting boons.
Maybe the "Draw Card" button should just say "Recruit Acolyte" or something to that effect instead. Draw card implies there's a mystery deck offscreen, when that's not what I think is happening.
Interesting script, good music, good visuals, but I'm afraid I simply couldn't figure out how the game works.
Thanks! There are some instructions on the game page that didn't make it into the game: https://skeeeth.itch.io/chighoul26
Let us know what we can communicate better! Love the feedback
