I echo quite a few things the other comments have mentioned (specifically the inventory stuff) BUT the I love your randomized storage room. It's pretty fun solving a mini maze every time. I did find myself entering and re-entering to see if I can get a more ideal layout but sometimes I wasted more time doing that. Otherwise, it is pretty good what you got here. Good job!

Really solid gameplay loop. Could use a little fine tuning, but I see that a few other commentors have had largely the same thoughts as I have

Imma list down things that didn't quite work in the game, but I just want to say first that I did find the game relaxing and I think when the bugs and user experience are fixed, it will be an enjoyable game to play.

  • When I added a new Inventory Slot, the price changed to 4. However, when I went back to the book for upgrade, it returned to 3.
  • I wasn't able to upgrade anymore after the first upgrade, meaning I had so much money but nothing to spend it on.
  • I don't know why the amount paid by the ghosts are not rounded to whole numbers. Is it tax? Are they paying tax that's why there's additional 0.03?
  • Others have pointed it out. Indicators would be really helpful to keep track of things. Show that there are only two available inventory slots at the beginning by showing the box in different shades or adding a lock icon. Change the appearance of the cauldron to differentiate between clean cauldron and cauldron with ingredients.

Now, Imma list down the things I like!

  • It's a cozy, relaxing game to play. Oftentimes, there is something at stake with shop games (time, fight monsters to get ingredients) so I did enjoy playing the game that isn't fast-paced (ㅅ´ ˘ `)
  • I like the little cat following me ₍^. .^₎⟆ It's soo cute.
  • The art is nice! It's not quite pixel art and it reminds me of the games I used to play in Newgrounds.
  • You nailed the Limitation (not quite the Autumn theme because it focused more on Halloween). I did use the Limitation to my advantage though as shown below:

I think your team did a good job for the time given. I hope your team continues the game. It has great potential to be a good cozy game. You can even add new features where you will find a secret note or ingredient in one of the mazes or you live a life outside of the cafe and introduce a world of fantastical creatures you can engage with.

All the best!

This game looks really cute and has a fun premise! As others have said the eight slot inventory makes it confusing that you can only pick up 2 items - it would be good to have a visual indicator that those slots aren't available until you unlock them. Thanks for sharing your game!

Very nice idea/concept and well put together in the short duration of the jam!
Has great potential in case you want to keep working on it post jam.

My main suggestion would be to tone down the foot steps and to give a visual indicator as your inventory capacity as it was a bit confusing bevore you checked the upgrade book for the first time.

Other than that nice cozy game and was fun to play!

love the game and the art style! took me a while to figure out i could only pick up 2 things and kept making the death potions by accidentally flashing my cauldron before i got the final item, but after i got the hang of it i was having a great time! well done!

Such a cute idea for the  game! I thought I had a bug where I couldn't take more than 2 of the same item with me at the same time, until I realized it was a jam's limitation. Was really confusing because you have 8 inventory slots. I would also recommend the cauldron show what's already been put in it, because it's easy to forget by the time you come back to it from the storage room. Otherwise, it's a nice little game, well done!

great game! i like how i can keep re entering the maze to roll for the closest placement of the ingredients

though i think the viewport size is too small on web(it only takes up like 1/3 of my screen) and i cant find a way to enlarge it, which makes the text a bit difficult to read, maybe its an issue on my side only

I love the concept, and the changing maze was a really nice interpretation of the limitation.

I got stuck on a couple of small things, like only holding two things at once, and getting the ingredients from only one side of the counter in the storeroom. I also really wish you could tell what is currently in the cauldron, and got feedback on when it is flushed and such.

The ghosts and witches theme was really good

The music and sound effects really fit the mood and the rest of the gameplay well.

Thanks for the feedback!

You can upgrade your inventory slots from the green upgrade book!
