Fun and addictive game with tight controlls. Only thing I would say is take screen size into account when making pixel art, like the background looks amazing, but doesn't really pair the best with the small sprites. but other than that, Good job overall!

I still can't decide if I like platformers lol, I LOVED both Ori's. Then I really really wanted to like Celeste but got so frustrated early on that I quit, but I do absolutely plan on going back to it for another try, or two lol. Anyway haha, I really liked your game! But I will admit that I didn't make it to the end because, like Celeste, I got frustrated lol. Not because it wasn't playable though! This is a great game and I love the mechanics! Especially shining a light on the caterpillars to get them to move, that was clever. The art is also really great. Great job!

Pretty good game! I do like the platforming mechanics and the whole leaf story thematic. The only thing I wasn't sure was how the limitation was put in place? I only finished world one so maybe that was the issue (I stopped because it became too hard for me to finish ahah...) Otherwise!! The art and the gameplay is very very neat. Good job!!!

Thanks for the feedback! You can see glimpses of the limitation in world 1 with things changing where the firefly is, But it really shines through the most towards the end of world 2, where we have a bit of a "boss fight" where you have to look at the boss from time to time to slow it down which was my personal highlight of making this game

Loved the game! The float mechanic was confusing at first but once I realized you can hold the jump to go higher I was cooking! I see what you mean that our projects are similar with the flashlight changing location of things xD. It was really fun and I loved more and more features were added. I did not expect wall jumping! Really fun game!

Very ambitious submission! I think this style of platformer is an incredibly difficult genre for jams for 2 reasons:
- First, people tend to love or hate this genre, no in-between. The right audience will love it (Hollow knight, celeste, super mario maker 2, etc), but these style games also tend to receive a lot of hate.
- Second, the general mechanics typically require *super* fine-tuned, precise input handling (and state transitions for things like wall-grabbing). Getting an input system that works that precisely and *feels*  polished typically requires TONS of playtesting to tune, which is a big hurdle on such a short timeline.

All that considered, I was very impressed with this one. The float mechanic took me a bit to get the hang of (I definitely almost quit after dying like 10x on 1-4, but stuck it out). I think there's still some room for fine-tuning the controls, I felt like the player should "stick" on wall jumps like a tenth of a second longer as it's easy to fall off when you'd intended on wall-jumping, but the controls were pretty solid overall!

Making 3 worlds of 9 levels each was also incredibly impressive, and they were all distinct with their own unique challenges.  Each level felt challenging, but also playtested & beatable (although the mushroom gauntlet right at the end of 2-9 needs some adjusting, IMO, I'm pretty sure I died there literally 50x.)

World 2 was definitely my favorite overall, the lighting effects made for such a neat ambiance to the levels.

The mechanics are really unique, I really enjoyed floating as a leaf! I think it could benefit from still having a wider range of movement. I think it would feel even more leaf like. Very fun game!!

I blattformed my little heart out, great mix of levels and slowly introducing mechanics, i'm not the best at blattformers and got a little stuck on 1-8 for a bit but it was totally worth continuing on great job!!!

Developer

thank you so much for the feedback! World 1-8 really is a tough one, so good job for powering through!

I loved the game. The theme is full on point with the story and the mechanic of gently falling to jump again are cool as fuck. Also the level design and the art are good and well thought, imo.

I found it kinda hard in some levels, but this is pretty good. Congratulations!

Thanks for the feedback and glad you enjoyed it! Also very glad to hear you like the float jump so much!

I'm impressed by the scope of this game! I felt that level 1-8 was a big spike in difficulty - I'm glad I powered through it to see world 2, but I'm not sure how many players from this jam will reach world 2, let alone world 3. The movement and level design feel great, though a more gradual difficulty curve would feel more satisfying. The character art and backgrounds are beautiful. Some more SFX would enhance the player experience immensely, especially for a game like this. While there are some dissonant note choices from time to time, I liked the music aesthetic and thought it was quite fitting for this game - and I love that you wrote multiple themes for the menu and each level! Overall, I think the game has a lot of potential. Great work, team!

Thank you for the detailed feedback! The difficulty was indeed a point of contention all the way through the jam, haha. Glad you stuck with it and found it rewarding enough :)

BTW: You can press ESC to go to the menu and into "World Select" in case you want to try out the other worlds without finishing the first world.
