I loved the characters and the small narrative encompassed in finding their lost items. Clearing the pathways were also an oddly satisfying thing to do. I would've loved to have seen more variety in leaf blowing sections and characters but I understand that PICO-8 has some limitations so understandable if that was not possible. Otherwise very cozy game!

Super cool to see a pico 8 game! Very charming little characters and I found it really satisfying clearing the leaves

I love the art on this game, especially the way the characters bounce around in their idle animation. And colours are so vibrant and autumn-y . Overall the art style and atmosphere is so unique and cozy!! The premise is simple but still engaging the way you put it together. I loved going through the rooms trying to return the lost items. Great take on the limitation, too.  Overall, awesome entry! :)

This game is so cozy! The themes, music, and art all go well together, but the gameplay is a bit tedious. Still, fun game that's perfect for the jam.

The art style of this game is fantastic as is the music which goes with it super well! The little conversations with the characters are really cute as well. Great job on this game!

GAHHHH THE LITTLE STORIES ARE SOOO CUTE, especially the dad...!!! Something about parents and trying to do their job gets me feel a certain way gahhhhh. Its such a cozy game, the whole atmosphere, the way it loops through the rooms (heh) was really cool too. I really enjoyed this entry!! The polish was so so good too. Def a 5/5. Thank you for the lovely experience!!!!!

She named the teddy bear after her dad... "I guess I'm doing something right after all"

I was caught off guard and I became teary-eyed reading that dialogue...

Gosh. I love it. It's very cozy. The idea is simple and yet it's fun and introduces interesting characters along the way. I didn't encounter any bug or difficulty so I was able to enjoy the game seamlessly. The leaf blower kinda looked like a screwdriver from the top angle so it's kinda funny to me (ᡕ⸝⸝‒ α΄— β€’)

Awesome job!!

Thanks so much for your kind words! I'm happy the dialogue was hitting for you <3

Gosh, clearing those leaves was surprisingly therapeutic haha. Getting the screens all nice and clear felt so satisfying. The game looks great too; loved all the different colors. Honestly, I forgot I was playing a Pico-8 game for a second! The maze-like layout of Perdita really got me all turned around at times, so the name is pretty fitting lol. I liked the little characters and having lost items to find along the way. It made clearing each screen that much more interesting. Had a lot of fun with this game, nicely done!

Thanks so much for your kind words, I'm really glad you enjoyed! It's definitely been my most ambitious game visually so I'm glad that came across!

You definitely nailed the visuals. Your spring game was also a banger too, I remember it really well.

The mechanics of the leaf blower were actually smooth, some variaty or upgrades would go crazy, hope you add them after the jam.

Developer

Thank you, I'm glad the controls worked for you because I'm getting mixed feedback aha. I don't know if I'll be adding much more after the jam due to Pico 8's size limits, but I definitely want a more satisfying ending. Thank you for playing!

Fun game, understand game jam for the short game. Thought there would be more after getting back to the cabin. So, I tried to speed run and see optimal way of blowing path clear or uncovering the items to find. I just didn't understand the mechanics of room traversal (when reappearing on opposite side of the same screen) to try and clear the game faster.

Developer

Glad you enjoyed, although agreed I definitely want to work on the ending more! There's no mechanics to the room arrangement it's just randomised. Thank you for playing!

Really charming art and characters! The music was pretty relaxing for the gameplay and looking for the lost objects gave a bit of a goal while blowing the leaves. The ending felt a bit anti-climactic but its understandable seeing as you stated you ran into issues with the PICO-8 token limit. Overall, very cute and chill game! Great work!

Developer

Thank you for your kind words! The characters were definitely my favorite part. I'm sorry about the ending - it's something I should have added sooner to make sure the game felt complete, but I got very wrapped up in other things (like the characters aha). Maybe I can find some ways to get the tokens down after the jam so I can improve on the ending. Anyway thanks for playing and taking the time to leave your thoughts!

What a cute small game!
I liked the sprites and animations and the gameplay itself was more relaxing than I expected.
The only thing that felt a little awkward was using x and z as the main buttons and switching between them.
At first I was kind of confused when I re-entered the same room from the other side again but I understood that that was part of the theme.
Good job on making a solid polished small game like this! :)

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it overall and thank you for playing! I agree that the controls are a little clunky. Unfortunately pico-8 only has six programmable buttons (arrow keys, x and z) as far as I know, so maybe I shouldn't have gone for something like this that requires more fluid controls. Thank you for your feedback!

Thank you!

The colours are nice and its very polished regarding the sprites and animations. But the game loop gets old very fast. It reminds me of "Leaf it Alone" but in 2D it just doesn't have that level of satisfaction because the controls are clunky. But maybe it's because I'm playing on a QWERTZ keyboard.

Developer

Thank you for checking it out, and glad you thought it felt polished! I can understand the gameplay not being very satisfying. It's not your fault for playing on a keyboard cus I was literally always making and testing this game on a keyboard aha. Anyway thank you for your honest thoughts!
