I thought the art, the atmosphere, and the ambience were top notch. The game isn't for me though. There were too many things that needed attention, and I didn't know in which order. I managed to ruin the generator on day 1 :)

Okay this is impressive for a week, I got up to day 32 and I only got to build one level 2 computer and had three bays in the refinery by the time I had to call it quits; good art, music, and gameplay concept but it has its short comings.

This is an incremental game but it feels really tedious to build up stuff incrementally; the game is kind of punishing, in so in a way that makes the upgrades feel unhelpful because you're going to have too much to keep track of and do a worse job because of it. I felt it make more sense to build up to decay rate, PC upgrades and steam upgrades first before expanding because otherwise you're just going to burn out PCs or overheat the refinery. I also think the generator time at the start is a little too short, it barely gives any time to figure out the game at the start. Maybe the game gets more balanced as you get upgrades to help but I feel for the time jammers have to test the game it's a little much for a jam game.

People have already pointed out indicators on the PCs (it's difficult to read they should turn blue like the refinery imo), but I feel the generator decaying is a little much when it's already on a timer that felt like busy work for the sake of busy work. That said I didn't notice any bugs and everything seemed pretty polished besides my issues mentioned before.

Appreciate the detailed breakdown a lot! I think a lot of comments have already pointed this out but a real challenge for this game was balancing / designing the upgrades. An incremental game is essential a designers nightmare, so many micro descions can result in game breaking snowballs, and up to the very last day we were still adjusting/playtesting to try to get a balanced experience.

Additional thing that I wanna mention (that you didn't mention in your comment but I'll address here) is the complaint about text dump at the start for the "tutorial". This was mainly due to time, it was better to give people all of the information up front rather then tell them nothing at all (we knew that people would likely not read it which is why you can re-enable it later if lost).

I also watched a bit of your video and I appreciate you taking the time to go out the way to play our game, thank you!

Ah, yes, the true horror: working at a job (or at least it kinda feels that way)

Echoing many other commenters, it took a small while to get how the loop starts going, ended up with Unitas II at around day 21 before calling it a day. There were some small annoyances; when a computer finishes loading bytes into a disc its hard to distinguish it from when its working unless one looks at the small screen, which can be frustating in a hurry, or I'm fairly certain that if one refines a disk and the fills it with bytes, it will have to be re-refined, making the loop much more linear and giving less personalization, but aside from that, it was an interesting and much unique game esp when compared to others in the Jam

love the light shader that was used to create that effect around lights, very cool. music was awesome and the premise was very cool but i was quite confused on how to play at first, im quite embarrassed at how long it took me to realize i cant start the days with a wrench in my hand haha. fun game though

Cool game! Agree with the other commenters mostly - it does indeed feel like an incremental overcooked, in a good way. I do feel it could've used a bit more hand-holding regarding tutorialization, but all-in-all, neat concept and solid execution!

I like how we all collectively decided to have computers/terminals as part of our gameplay this jam /j

I don't think the incremental genre is my cup of tea. I assume there's some story/horror progression the more upgrades you get? I did the grind, but I'd get enough for one-two upgrades per day and after a while I lost motivation to continue.

It took me longer than I would like to admit that I had to START the generator before I could create the chips hahaha
Not sure if I was doing something wrong, but it took me about 15 days to get the first computer upgrade and my PC was STRUGGLING, so I called it at around 20ish days.

Gameplay loop was nice once I got the hang of it. I really dig the aesthetic/art style and it played very well with the music/sound design. Great job overall!!

system shock / phantasy star online meets incremental game, love it~
im unfortunately not a huge conoisseur of those type of game and their mechanics, but i had a great time and felt the hand holding was just right during my playthrough! congrats on the art, really got me attracted to the game.

This one felt like sorta incremental Overcooked. And it's a good thing!

Takes a bit of time to understand in which order you use the different apparatus, but once you get there you kinda get into the flow of juggling tasks.
Onboarding is not the easiest: there's no do A, then B, then C, so you have to get past that frustration of not understanding what you need to do oh and your gen just shut down cause it needed fixing while you were bashing the refractor.

Loved the immersion of using an actual computer, that was a really nice touch <3

Really fun game! I loved the atmosphere, music/ambiance, visuals, and mechanics! I was sad when it ended as a demo but it definitely made me want to know/play more! Can't wait for the full release! I wonder how it endssss

Fun Incremental game, with a easy to learn hard to master type game loop. 9/10 :)
