this one was short but well made I do Love stuff related to death or the afterlife so I was always going to love the concept and I think having the choice of whether or not to respect the wishes of the family or listen to the ghost is a fun dilemma.

there's not much “gameplay” but that doesn't need to be for this kind of game. If you wanted to I guess you could do  minigames where you do the tasks yourself?

The art gives me RPG Maker Vibes and the ambient sound is a good choice if you don't have time for music

I'd love to see this expanded more. Maybe we could see the families reaction to the funeral or be able to visit a graveyard with everyone that we’ve prepared?

Cool game! I like the concept of having to choose whether to follow the wishes of the living or the dead and I like the atmosphere that the audio creates. I kind of wish there was some bonus dialogue at the end if you followed all of the requests from the ghosts but I also think its interesting that you don't really know if the ghosts are real. If you decide to continue working on this, I think it would be cool to lean into that uncertainty. I saw some other comments suggesting multiple days so maybe the character could question their choices at the end of each day so the player is never really sure if they're doing the right thing.

I've been brainstorming some ideas on how to expand on this, and I think keeping this "Are the ghosts real or is Mort losing his marbles" balance is probably going to be the toughest line to toe. Hopefully I can achieve this, but will definitely need to work carefully to keep this.

Thanks for playing :)

The setting is unique! I’ve never seen anything like this at any game jam before!)

But the gameplay is a bit disappointing... where’s the option to provide unpaid services? Where’s the option to "mix up" the clothes?)

Developer(+1)

Yeah, it's been pointed out that the game has more of a narrative mechanic than any gameplay mechanic. Tbh, I didn't even think of trying to implement more, as this was my first jam, and I really took the "keep scope small" advice to heart.

I've kept working on this since, and the fact that it took me a full day to get a basic "Clean body" minigame built and another full day for enough polish that I felt happy to add it makes me feel it was the right call for the submission. Thanks for playing :)

Woahhhhh, really cool! I'm glad that there was an option to listen to the ghosts and make them happy, even if the boss didn't like it XD I for sure failed the first run bc I didn't wanna open the body drawers yet bc i was spooked by the creepy audio. Hahaha. Very eerie! But the curls and the sweater made it sweet :) Amazing! Keep it up, I'm looking forward to your next stuffs :D

Developer

Aww, thanks! I am so glad the creepy/cute vibe I wanted is coming across :)

Very cool that it's your first game!  I like that it tells a story and involves player choice!  I didn't quite get what I was doing at first but once I left and got fired once I figured it out lol.  Great choice to work with premade assets for your first game.  The sound of the fluorescent lightbulbs blaring is a nice touch, really sets the vibe.

Developer

Thanks, yeah there was no way that I was going to learn both art and coding at the same time, so I was lucky enough to find assets that managed to capture the vibe I wanted :)

Knowing that it wasn't immediately clear what you were supposed to do definitely helps me refine the idea. Thank you for playing and giving feedback.

Compared to the first couple of games I made, this one looks like a masterpiece. Great work!

Developer

Aww, thank you! I had such a great time making it and learned so much during the process.

really well done. Hope you stick to game making, this is great for a first entry!

Thank you! I definitely intend to keep this hobby. Like all noobs, I started out trying to make my DrEaM gAmE, so making this was a nice challenge, and I will likely stick to making smaller games for now while I'm still learning. Maybe even build this one out to have a bit more meat to it :)

Great work on your first game! I look forward to seeing what you make next :D

Developer

Thank you for playing it on stream, it was good to see a playthrough from someone new to the game. It helped a ton,  and gave me some ideas for improvements and expansion on the game.

I really liked the aesthetics of the game. The art and sound matched perfectly! I also enjoyed how calm and pressure-free it was with no time limit. It would be really cool to play through more days!

Developer

Thank you! I haven't really considered anything beyond what I did for the jam (which is everything you see), but will definitely consider expanding on this further.

Really nice gj on your first ever game this is great :D i love the aesthetic there is a mood to this game, the visuals and the never ending  white noise sfx is really good. wish it would last on multiples days

Developer

Thanks! I'm glad the mood I wanted is coming across, it took me probably way too long to get the exact sounds I wanted (and I am at this point completely incapable of making the sounds myself).

Behind the scenes info:  The white noise was inspired by my ancient PC fans humming like this while I was developing, and it made testing to see how it plays in game quite difficult.

I liked this one. Somehow had an eerie and yet very calm vibe. Good job.

Thank you! I had to rush like mad to get the sound in on the last day, but I do think it added a lot to get the vibe I was going for.
