i made it to day 6 only tho it was hard for me for some raison those damn crows are too much numbered
but it was a really nice game and fun to play i liked it
thank u soo much for the game
Damn, the game was very well made and well implemented. I loved the visuals of the game, the sound design was also great. The most important part was that it was actually really fun to play, the gameplay loop was really fun and interesting. Fabulous job
Had to check out another scarecrow game and I’m so glad I did! The music is wonderful, perfectly captures that halloween spooky atmosphere. The art style was also very charming, it reminded me of the old Beetlejuice cartoon in the best way. I had a lot of fun playing this one and fending off those dastardly crows.
A really cute and beautifully crafted game. I'm absolutely loving the gameplay! It's relaxing and has a lovely Halloween theme. I'll definitely have to come back to it after trying out some other games.*~*
The sound design and soundtrack are amazing, too. I also love how the gameplay conditions keep changing. Sweeping up crows is fun, especially when there's lightning flashing right above your head. And to think my dad always told me not to stand in an open field during a thunderstorm :D!
This game is unbelievably well made omg. When I first saw it, I thought it was just a chill farming game. I thought the crows swarming the farm was just a joke, but I was dead wrong.
The gameplay is really fun and surprisingly challenging, especially when it comes to managing your crops and scarecrows. Also, whoever wrote the dialogue deserves a raise because I laughed every single time. The artwork is beautiful, and the UI is so clean and polished. Only one issue I have is that weapons should show the area of attacking when you click the scarecrow, that way players can put them strategically.
I definitely gonna play this more than once. Seriously, this game deserves way more ratings bruh
Thank you for playing! And for the note on the chill farming game, we're going to try and add a gif thumbnail today to make it more obvious haha.
I did want to add the weapon preview! I just ran out of time, the grid overlay code is kind of "manual" right now and the weapon implementation was already pretty rushed. I know it's a thing in basically every grid-based strategy game though lol. BUT, there is a range preview on the item card in the shop!
Our artist and I went back-and-forth a bunch to get the UI the way we wanted it! We're both fascinated by games that nail the intuitive and interactive UI, it really makes it feel more alive and less like a game :)
Everything about this game is absolute insanity, in every possible meaning of the word, the most insane thing being that you made all this in 7 days. The combat phase is way faster and more hectic than I was expecting, to the point where it took me a few nights to figure out what was actually happening in all the madness. But yeah, very hectic, very enjoyable.
How was this made In 7 days bro. Art is good, animations, Mechanics are really well thought out. Love bonking the crows. Nice Job :)
Thank you!! Our artist & composer are rockstars, and I (programmer) put a lot of time and effort into the underlying systems. The actual game didn't solidify until we were basically out of time, so it's not the most balanced game in the world, but we knew we wanted to make something focused and polished!
I had so much fun playing this!!
Very well thought out and charming game. Challenging but not too hard, I managed to beat the murder on my second run.
I love the aesthetic! I know you were inspired by Don't Starve which is one of my favourite games so I was hooked on the style from the start. The music is also very enjoyable. And I loved the writing, it has lots of personality!
My only gripe is that the crows are just so adorable that I felt bad bonking them haha
I shall remain as SpookedMoth on the leaderboard!
This was really fun! The gameplay during the night got WAY too fast too often though, I just kept mashing buttons and it seemed to work? Really cool concept
Nice I beat it ✌︎㋡ . That was so polished for a week and really big in scope, a rogue lite? in a week wow, visuals and music were very good. I do feel the gameplay does get pretty chaotic and it feels like individual choices have less meaningful impacts later into the game. I also (like an idiot) skipped dad's shop multiple times and missed out on upgrades by accident. I think this just needs maybe more balancing but it's really good as is. Also, noticed some very minor visual bugs where I could do stuff like moonwalk, but I was recording so you might be able to catch them.
Video:
Thank you so much for playing and for the video! The recording was crazy helpful in so many ways, and it was awesome to watch someone play the game out.
Yeah, the scope was definitely high! We kind of started ambitious and cut stuff as we found what was working and what wasn't, what we had time / motivation for / etc. Huge props to our artist and composer for grinding to get the look and sound just right.
I agree with you about the balance issues - I'm sure I'll spend many hours in the weeds getting it to feel good as the game is fully fleshed out haha.
