was able to get to level 10 and got 11 presents. Not sure how it fits the theme. Was not able to hear the music for some reason. Nice and classic platformer.

I feel like the theme of "something wicked" is fit by the fact that Santa locked you in a death game, and it isn't Halloween, and I did add a lie if you can find it. I don't know why you couldn't hear the music. Thank you for playing my game!

How many levels are there? I only played till level 18. The game is truly enjoyable when your are not too tense and flow with the bgm, lol. I thought it was playable on mobile but the a button won't do anything. Nice submission!

Developer

It is fully playable on mobile, but the buttons don't click very well so I would not recommend it at all. There are a total of 40 levels, where the first 10 are just platforming levels, the next 10 have spikes, the next 10 add saws, and the final 10 have a second layer of spikes that move on an opposite timer. Technically though there are a lot of levels because every one is procedurally generated, and random each time. Thank you for playing my game, I hope you enjoyed it!

I like the idea! At first, I was a bit confused because I encountered a few bugs, such as getting stuck in the shop. But overall, it's a cool little game! I really like how it's time-based and allows me to play through multiple levels in one run. It gives me the opportunity to improve my performance and try to reach even more levels with each attempt

I did know about some bugs, but to get out so the shop you just have to scroll down to the exit shop button, (sorry if it wasn't clear). I think the biggest bugs are that the music stuff is a bit weird, the toy box stays for an extra round, and the volume only affects sound effects. If you happen to know of any others, please let me know, but I think that everything else works well. Thank you for playing my game, I hope you enjoyed it!

The lie in this is pretty clever.

Hey, you should ask Kevin to put a late submission on itch. I think it is still not too late. Reach him in discord.

Your game looks fun though, but i cannot vote or comment anything because it is not submitted on itch.

Developer

I wasn't able to put it in late unfortunately, but I would really appreciate it if you would still play and rate it if you can. I swear it isn't malware, and other people have played it.

A procedurally generated platformer with roguelike meta-progression is a big ambition for a jam, especially built in MakeCode Arcade, and a toy trying to escape Santa's workshop is a lovely twisted-Christmas premise. 'Not everything is as it seems' has me curious how The Lie shows up!

If you have about 10 minutes, I'd be really grateful if you'd give my entry Forever a play. It's a pastel dating-app horror set in Valentine's week, with two endings, and it runs right in your browser. An honest rating or any feedback would mean a lot!

Developer

The lie is hinted at in the intro.

At the end of the intro, the game says Don't Die, which I capitalized to hint at the lie, but the lore is that, your death entertains Santa more, so it gives you buffs such as slowing down the saws, and giving you extra time. If anyone comments anything about the lie, please use spoilers.

you have not put the game

There is a link inside of the game below where it is supposed to be played, since I couldn't embed it directly into itch.
