The opening cutscene is so cool! The game has so much variety and so many mechanics to explore that I couldn't even discover everything. Really impressive work!

This instantly took me back to Eye of the Beholder and Dungeon Master. It feels like a game I would have proudly brought home in a jewel case from Fargus.
A really atmospheric dungeon crawler.
The guild area confused me a little: it’s quite big, and finding everyone takes a while. A simple menu, or the characters standing in a row, would make it easier to get around.
It was a real nice to wander the dungeon and feel a bit nostalgic. Thank you for the trip back in time!

Developer

Thanks for playing and for the feedback about the game. I'll be working on the guild, too.

I think this looks really good and it feels really good, the controls are a little hard to get used to but not seriously bad. I really loved the concept and feel. I do think it's a bit too unforgiving and challenging to start with.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback. I will work on the balance. So far, that's all I've done in 2 days of jamming. I still have a lot of ideas on how to improve the game.

Developer

I still can't get to your game. Your game needs to be played thoughtfully.

The intro paintings and the torch-lit dungeons really set the mood. I love that the torch is both your light and your clock: every step burns fuel, so you're always weighing how far to push. That's a great take on the theme. The turn-based fights felt nice and classic, and coming back to the guild town between descents gives it that old-school dungeon crawler loop. With 101 monsters in the bestiary, a skill tree and crafting, there's a surprising amount here for a jam game. Great atmosphere, and good luck in the jam!

Developer

Thank you. Your feedback inspires me to develop the game after the jam. Thanks for the feedback.

Although I'm not really get used to this kind of gameplay, but the visuals are surely attractive, nicely done!

Really like the pixelated artstyle of this one! I think the controls can be improved for desktop users, as it seems to be optimised for mobile.

I haven't played dungeon crawlers in awhile so it is a refreshing entry! I think what could help is to add some lore to flesh out the atmosphere of this game further. Hope to see more from you. Nice work!

Developer

I'll think about improving the management. I'll work on ENT. I had 2 days to create this game. So I couldn't do much.

Visit my page, there are still games there. https://ais235.itch.io/

I liked the design and style of the monsters, and I really liked the game’s style.

Thanks for playing AI WORMS and for the kind words! Gutterflame is great fun: I loved the way the evil things transform, that was a really cool touch, and the music sets the mood well. Using the torch as both your light and your clock is a clever take on the theme. Nice work!

Developer

Thank you. With the torch, it was obvious, but it goes out, which means it limits travel time. I'll add more mechanics in the future. I was inspired by a set of anime about dungeons and came up with a helmet with a candle like in the manga "Survival in the Barbarian Game"

i like the details in the graphics.

Developer

Great, so you can tighten up the graphics, but in general you like it. Thanks for the feedback.

Doom / Diablo concept, interesting:) I did enjoy playing it:)

Developer

Great, so the game can be developed after the jam.

Thanks for playing Poop Sponge and for the honest note, it pushed me to add tips to the first levels! Gutterflame has such a strong mood: the pixel-art intro with the gates rising from the deep, then Floor 1 with "The light catches old stones." I love that every step burns the torch, watching it tick down from 150 makes the dungeon tense right away. The on-screen arrows and the minimap made it easy to start. I only had time for a short first dive, but the torch-or-loot backpack idea makes me want to go deeper. Great work!

Developer

Thank you, it's a pleasure.
