That is exactly the loop I was aiming for - you throw one torch, watch what the fire decides to do, and then want to try a different opening. Glad it caught you.
If you go back: the fewer torches you throw, the more stars you get, so the levels you have already beaten usually have a tighter solution hiding in them.
