You're welcome! Excited to see how this game would grow. 😊 Do let me know if you would ever have an updated version in the future open for testing.

Hey, Mike here. 😺 Thank you for making this demo. I agree, I also perceive gestures to be underutilized in games so it's exciting to see that you created a game with one!

Specific to this demo, I think one of my issues is how the camera also moves when you make a gesture. This made the game too "shaky" in my experience. Personally, I would like the camera to walk with the character so that doing any gestures would have a steady camera.

Overall, I was quite surprised I enjoyed testing it especially when the song started to play. I felt like the character was in a movie and it's time for his epic battle sequence. 😁

Hey, Mike here. 😺 Thank you for making such a game! I like the concept and I was excited to see someone create a game like this.

Now, the only thing that bothered me is how to position my hands. I am required to click on the enemies to select a target, but I have to continue moving my character. So, both my hands are occupied, and casting a skill would require me to release one of my hands to press the skill buttons.

Also, do you have any concept art of how the final game might look like?  I am interest to see what the final look might be.

Hey, Mike here. 😊 I think you'd be happy to know that I ended up playing your game for about an hour. Before I answer the specifics, I'd like to first share the parts that I really liked about your game.

  • I like the pixel art. It allows the medieval setting to shine because of its retro feels.
  • I really enjoyed leveling my character. It was satisfying to go on errands and level up along the way. I also liked that upgrades and it kept me coming back and doing errands again and again to gain experience points and gold.
  • I was surprised with the pets. I didn't expect them, so it was a nice surprise. Also, another surprise that they change form, and I was touched that the dog became old and I wanted him to just sleep in the corner. 😁
  • I liked that you can skip the errands to the end. I did that again and again for the exp and coins.

Now for your request:

  1. The first point that confused me was the amount of text that I had to read. Honestly, I read only 20% of them as there were so many going on the screen at once. To me, this could be solved by unlocking specific parts at a certain stage so that I get to read and digest the first parts before reading and understanding the succeeding ones. Also, during errands, when you had to choose an option, I found the timer too fast that I didn't read through the details. I just picked whatever caught my attention or just skipped the errand to the end. I would think the errands would've told a story that might have been good, but I decided to skip them altogether.
  2. I choose whichever gave me the most gold with the highest chance of success. This is because I wanted to upgrade as fast as I can. It's good in that sense because I was hooked by the game, although I am not sure later on if I am able to upgrade them in a very short time that I would play the game again in the future.
  3. I stopped because my laptop's battery was dying. 😂 I think I would've unlocked all the maps and upgraded everything if I didn't stop.

Just one more thing to consider:

I am a little too biased for pixel art because I love them, so I found it quite distracting that the design is a mixed of pixel art and a browser-type UI. I would personally like to see it all in pixel art especially the menus (i.e. remove the scrolling and format the UI to have them fit all in one screen, multiple pages).

Overall, I would like the thank you for making a game that I enjoyed. 😊

I was pulled in by the art! Some of them could have been integrated better (like when you passed through the dragon bone mouth, there was a hard line that cuts through) but overall, quite pleasing to look at.

It was satisfying to see how the stuff burned! Hooks you in trying different solutions and how you would burn everything. 😁

Lovely to see a fellow Filipino in this jam. I instantly recognized your inspiration for this game. 😁 I see your passion in your work, and I know that you worked hard on it! There's definitely a lot of improvements you can make for this game, and I would be happy to share them with you should you need them. 😊 Best of luck!

Nice to see a fellow Pinoy here! 😁 I love the part where you used the Rhythm Game to illustrate about peer pressure! If you're taking any wish lists, I would like to have the controls more intuitive. I find it difficult to map out the commands without looking at the notes on the left. Some examples I could think of is if instead of them clapping or raising, maybe they are dancing and they are moving up/down/left/right? Although that's just me and maybe that wouldn't align at all with your intent. 😊 Anyway, great to see your work! Best of luck.

Wow, this game is an eye-opener for me! As someone who have never tried live-streaming or watching someone on live-stream, my experience with this game overwhelmed me (in a good way).  I have gained so much respect to those who do this in real life. Thank you for bringing such awareness in this way. 🙇

I was drawn by the graphics, and playing it live blew me away! I love how everything is so arranged neatly. It's really great! If it helps in any way, I was kind of distracted between drawing and listening to the person talk causing me to only half listening (or reading hehe) to what the person is saying. I think it would do wonders if the conversation happens first, and then you draw based on what you have talked about. I think that would do great in real life too. 😊 Anyway, all in all, it's a game that gives me positive feelings and I love it! Best of luck! ❤️

I was attracted to the art style that's why I opened the game! I played it and was a bit confused on what was happening. I think too many things opened for the player at once (like building, the jars, etc.) and it overwhelmed me. Maybe a step-by-step instruction flow could help the player get onboard faster.

I was attracted to how cute the art is that's why I opened and played your game on the browser. :) I was kind of confused though how the game should go. The first try, I won, and I barely knew what I was doing. The second time, I got confused what needs to be done. I don't know if it's just me not reading the instructions properly and just went on with the game, but maybe some improvements on the intuitiveness of the game could help a long way. Anyway, cheers!

I really loved the idea of having 2D pixel-art characters in a 3D world! When I played the first few parts, I had trouble getting around as I am not used to these kinds of games so the controls were quite confusing to me. Maybe a more explicit tutorial at the start would help. Also, I found most of the text hard to read unless I use the fullscreen mode, but when I use the fullscreen mode, the sound gets weird. I don't know if it's an issue of the way the game was built or something about my setup.

Thank you so much for playing and for sharing this! We love the idea, and we'll definitely consider it. It got us thinking about how to find something unique that truly fits Isko as a babaylan-in-training, and we'd be happy to share an update once we've worked it out. Salamat!
